I guess there are some "mental" racists out there who just never did anything about their feelings. I am quite sure that someone may have wanted to commit a racist act and just never went through with it. That would be a racist who never acted on it. Would be hard to classify them with the ones who really did commit an act of racism though. -- I percieve no barrier to anything I want to do. Not sure what you mean there. -- What current troubles have I attributed to the "white man"? The only thing you can blame anyone for is what they have actually done. Why would I need a copout, however you are using that phrase? -- Use of cracker was certainly meant to be incendiary. Who disputes that? If I found out from whites that cracker is more hurtful and offensive than the n word was to blacks, then I would be shocked by that fact. Truly.

There is a monumental difference between prejudice and racist. Please don't mix the two. It makes you look foolish.

Prejudice is the mental action of judging your surrounding and making inferences based on patterns of your past experiences.

Racist or racism is an action. You could say, to act upon prejudice. It is either an action, policy, or law which adversely effects another based on prejudice thoughts.

Everyone is prejudice. There is nothing wrong with prejudice. It is the natural way your brain operates to defend yourself from possible threats. Racism is a whole another animal.

I told the dude that a racist had to actually do something to be called a racist. And if he did not do anything then he is not a racist. What is wrong with that?????????? Second, you said "mental" racists. I was making the point that there was no such thing in an intelligent discussion. In everyday slang, it gets used incorrectly.

I said that blacks most likely never would have been racist toward whites. All that slavery and J/C and everything else that some whites were doing had a much bigger impact on race relations than anything blacks could have done. What problem could a slave have caused to massa? What problem could a black man have caused during the 1900's? A march. A protest? A rally? What were they protesting for anyway? Exactly. -- Sorry cracker bothers you, it has no affect on me, or my community, at all. Now, should I tell you what I would appreciate? Or is that priveledge only reserved 4 your kind?

To say blacks would never have been racist is absolutely absurd. You cannot base that on anything, and I actually have two counterexamples to prove the opposite. The racism against the Asian and Hispanic communities. As for your stance on cracker. You are using a racially motivated word against the race that it was intended to be a slur against; hitherto, making you a racist. I did not ask you not to call me that because I am white and better than you. I asked you not to call me that out of the respect that either one should have for each other based on the simple fact we are human beings. You choose to be obstinate, use the word, and continue to keep a divide where it does not need to exist. So who is it keeping the racism around, you or me?

Are there any examples of Hispanics or Asians needing an armed escort to attend a previously all white school (University of Arkansas I believe)? How did the Bear convince Alabama to "let" him have blacks on his team? By inviting USC to town and getting beat by a team with blacks on it. Bama got 'em some soon after that. If you post two more examples, I will too. You will run out long before me. US History is an open book. -- I don't think blacks would ever have hated whites like what happened in this country. So because the blacks were treated more poorly than Hispanics and Asians in this country it's ok for there to be belligerence towards them? Do you not agree that it is incredibly counter productive to keep hate around based on things that happened over a hundred years ago?
