Is there something going on internally?

Is there something going on internally that we don’t know about? Divided locker room? Toxic work environment? I don’t understand how all our coaches with their combined championship pedigrees and experience didn’t have the team ready against a lack luster opponent. What is going on? Anyone have insider info?
I wondered the same thing. You dont lay an egg against an inferior opponent like that by accident. There has to be some kind of systemic issue going on internally that we are unaware of. HAS to be! Plus I wondered if how we finished the season last year was some kind of red flag. That's 3 straight we've lost now.

Rumor is that Pruitt doesn’t really want to be here and may be regretting that he took the job in the first place. Apparently his wife does not like it here and would like their family to go back to Alabama as soon as possible. Pruitt has also rubbed a lot of the assistants and players the wrong way. We started to really see the lack of passion during the Vandy game last year with a bowl on the line. The players didn’t want another month of practices. Then we saw that carry over into the game today. Don’t be surprised if Pruitt doesn’t last past this season. He’s realized that head coaching isn’t for him, and likely would be more than happy to go back to being a DC.
would not be the least bit surprised

Besides the thing with Quart'e Sapp, I also remember these weird and awkward notes from Pruitt's first season:

1. Calling-out the fans after the O&W game -- a little early to be lecturing when you haven't proven anything as a new head coach.
2. Firing the long-time team surgeons with no real explanation -- his privilege as the head coach, but weird.
3. Pointing-out that only 28% of the team's preseason roster had started more than one game -- lowering expectations.
4. The disappointing trajectory of J.J. Peterson, the crown jewel in his first signing class.
5. Blamed the WVU loss on the players not executing the coaches' great play-calling in the second-half.
6. When asked by a sideline reporter if he learned anything from the weather delay vs WVU that helped him with the delay vs ETSU, he said "I don't know about me, but I hope the team did."
7. Compared the team to his 3 year-old after the UTEP game.

One thing I also find interesting is the seemingly tight grip he has in leaks within his camp. It’s hard to really know what’s going on but for us to have the talent we have an lose the way we did tells me it’s more then just X’s and O’s. There’s a culture problem the fans don’t know about.

From the disinterested and unprepared look they had today I think Jeremy Pruitt and his staff may have lost the team.
I just made the comment this evening that it appeared like the staff had already lost the team. Geez..if that is the case, how do you lose a team. Before the first game??!?!

It's a dumpster fire, has been for a while and will continue to be for a while. Dont worry though, we will win one nobody expects and everything will be back to normal...pruitts the savior, off season hype...well you know the yearly routine on vn.

I just hope that one is alabama, since ill be there sporting orange.

Makes you want a refund. I’m not excited about the game portion of next weeks festivities.

During halftime of the Bama game Pruitt said the only way to be competitive was to bring in better players. That’s throwing everyone under the bus on national tv. Imagine what he says about them when the cameras aren’t on. Also throw in BT’s suspension over a misdemeanor and it looks a lot like the coach doesn’t have the players’ backs.

He should be suspended

Sources tell me Pruitt is getting an extension and a raise because TN is a bankrupt program firing coaches
