I see what your saying but I really feel like we treated this as a tune-up and thought ad we could get away with having no game plan and throwing whatever player we want out on the field with no agenda other than to see how they fit;the staff thought we could out talent them and we should have but we didn't. I keep hearing Pruitt doesn't care but that's simply not the case. Him making the off-season hiring changed proves that, of course they need to show their worth ....JG is holding the offense back big time IMO though and that needs to be addressed

I hope so. If this team comes out flat against BYU that is a sure sign this season is done and there is something very wrong behind the scenes with the team and coaching staff.

Treating it like a tune up game doesn't explain the absence of any fire from start to finish. Usually when you're losing you tend to try and go into that next gear and play harder but these kids played worse. There are exactly zero excuses for a team like Tennessee to lose games like that but now some of you consider the worst loss in program history acceptable.

The attitude I saw in person at the game Saturday was a lot like this with several players......As if it were a scrimmage game. It reminded me of a bowl game we were in years ago. In that game, we were getting our butts taken to the wood shed when we were favored to win that game. What was sad was several players were on their cell phones talking and laughing during the game a few yards behind coach Fulmer. Even the TV announcers made comments about it. I have never forgotten those moments.

I am not condoning the tweet in any way, but I personally don't see why we should pay anyone to play us at this point. We are playing on the same level as a Sunbelt team so why do we feel the need to shell out $950,000. We should have plenty of suitors to play us without wasting money, heck we already do this with buyouts.

Big difference, u get taken to task and whipped on the field and u don't take it personal; especially when the joke is about you and your team being manhandle, that tells me all I need to know. Sorry attitude, and not a competitor! Dude is straight garbage anyways cut sling load and let him be on his way. TN has never got any worthwhile production from his lazy butt anyways. Kid can laugh all he wants but bottom line is the tweet just shows his ignorance. Some stuff just needs to stay in house or to yourself.

to make it shorter I'm getting older but I read a post where Bama hired 6 coaches in a 10 year period with Saban being #6. I'm sure he had a hefty price tag. So if Phil can come up with the cash which elite coach would be willing to take on this job knowing our recent history. Sure you can say plenty of them and be correct but my opinion is that if Pruitt can stay 6 years we'll win the conference. Continuity in coaching means a lot more than we think and that's what we need most.

Call me crazy but if given time to get more of his players and continuing to play and develop his recruits then we will become a contender again

Maybe you're right but I'm a firm believer that you can tell if a guy can coach within the first two seasons and so far CJP has shown me nothing that says he can.

For the sake of everything Vol I hope I'm wrong.

Phil will not be able to come up with the money when Neyland being about 50 percent empty and with no one shelling out for Vol apparel. This season will be a struggle just to pay current bills financially.
