Is this CBP best coaching job?

To answer the question - no.

This is his team. Part of being a collegiate head coach is making sure you have the talent in place, and that included character evaluations. There is no excuse. This is 100% his roster. The guys who are here (or consequently the three guys who were booted) are a result of his recruiting. Other than a pass on Negedu, the blame of the lack of depth (and outside shooting) falls solely at his feet.

and their in ability to press. he recruited a bunch of guys and then says he can't press with this team. that's just brilliant.:ermm:

I agree that it's definitely not an absolute that $2 million buys a "better" coach than Pearl. But that's not the point people are making. They are saying that if Pearl left, it wouldn't send us back to the Wade Houston or Buzz Peterson years as some of the idiots on here suggest. I would definitely be willing to bet that we could pay someone $2 million dollars plus a year and get similar results as we are getting right now. And I think that's the point being made on here.

Why is this discussion still going on????? Again, who are you going to get? You guys are wearing this out.....right now who are you going to get who has accomplished what Pearl has in the last five years? No doubt we could get a good coach for $2 million, but why make the move when things are going well with Pearl. Makes no sense.......... Wait.....here comes the argument for improvement.....dont use it we all want to see improvement with this years team....who in my opinion has overachieved.

:hi:

We reached all the way down to Milwaukee to bring Pearl here. I would be surprised if you knew that he existed before he was hired. Yet he seems to have done a good job. You seem to love him, he energized the program, the media loves him, and he has certainly had regular season success.

You are delusional if you think that there is nobody between the Milwaukee’s of the world and the UNC’s who would be willing to take the job, and could have more post season success that Pearl.

You and the “Who ya gonna get” crowd have such a myopic view and hard-on for someone that you didn’t know existed 6 years ago.

You are really grasping for straws now.

Put a name out there......Oh by the way Pearl is no longer thought of as UWM's coach since he has taken a sub 500 team and won 100+ games in less than five seasons....

Name a coach.

How could we do that? The only options are Buzz, Wade, Jerry, and Kevin.

Good way to avoid the question. I respect your cowardness to throw a name out there to replace Pearl.

Again, who has said that they wanted him replaced? Even you should have figured out by now that I did not state that I wanted him replaced, Speedy.

If all we are going to do is get similar results---why change? I think we have reached a level now that will prevent us from ever returning to the Houston/Peterson years---at least I certainly hope so.

No one on here has advocated for change that I have seen.

That he fix deficiencies such as his half-court offense; I haven't seen anyone suggest that he should be fired.

Every one agrees that we have things that need to be addressed and improved. But the majority of folks who don't like Pearl constantly talk about how terrible the team is and that we need a coach who can exceed what he is doing. No one actually says "fire", but the implication of the threads are clear.
