Is this Pearl's worst TN team?

It would be ironic if Pearl's worst team ends up going the furthest in the NCAA tournament

I don't agree... the team's problem is that they play up or down comparatively to the competition. If the would play intensely all the time, I think you might feel differently, IMO

i don't know what you mean. EVERYONE, including espn experts know that the great motivator NEVER lets his players get away with less than 110% effort. you obviously don't know who our coach is or you are just watching the wrong team.

I hate posts like this!!!!!

Did we lose to a top 10 purdue team by one point?.....YES

Did we get blown out on the road to two average teams(usc, georgia) who where playing out of there minds?....YES

Did we lose a game at home to vandy that we probably could have or should have won?..YES

But the reality is that we won on the road at memphis, which is always tough no matter how good they are.

We beat KANSAS which is not going to happen many times this year.

And we have quality S.E.C. wins against alabama, ole miss, and florida

Obviously this next week will show a lot about how good this team really is but I hate when people describe a top 15 ncaa tourney bound team as "worst".

Look at north carolina

define quality win.

here's how i define it. beat teams who are gonna be in the NCAA tourney.

KU... probably florida, probably ole miss, maybe charlotte, maybe memphis.

i do not believe we are 100% tourney bound. the win over florida at home has our heads above water.

Yes......But only because it's time to go home. :peace2:

Fair enough, I just don't like people telling Alabama doesn't suck at something. They got the NC in football, I am enjoying watching them crash and burn in BB

Even if we split south carolina, georgia, florida and lost twice to vandy and kentucky we would still limp in to the tourney

I love the people that have no-life and get on "their" teams message board and have thousand's of post. And more than half of their post are something negative towards the team or coach.

limping in with that kinda record in feb and march does not guarantee a berth. the committee claims to weigh feb and march record for bubble teams. if we finish off as you suggest.... we are 60/40 to make the tourney.

I guess you've met your quota for this month.

As far as record-wise, I think last years team was worse than this one.

As far as talent level, this team wins the worst award in a landslide.

Shouldn't we be supporting this team, and not calling them "the worst"? IMHO, this team has played greatly at times, but has proven to be inconsistent. Why should we, fans of the SAME team argue? Shouldn't we point out the good along with the bad? Instead of just pointing out everything that hsa gone wrong, be constructive and point out how we can improve, and what we do well WITHOUT such an angry attitude.

That record gets us in no doubt - it is ignorant to think there would be a 40% chance of being left out.

Suck it!

The NCAA berth is not as automatic as one might think. To safely be in the field, I'm thinking no worse than 4-5 in the remaining 9 SEC games, plus one SEC tournament win (never a guarantee there, is it?) That puts UT at 22-10, 9-7 in the conference, and most likely a 7 or 8 seed. If you consider that both tilts with Kentucky and the road trip to Vandy are very likely losses, there's not really all that much wiggle room. Basically, the game tomorrow is absolutely crucial.

IMO we are actually playing pretty good defense this year and our team 3pt% is pretty good. I think that the two things that hurt us are free throws and easy missed shots. How many times has J.P. Prince made an awesome steal and then goes slashing to the rim only to miss the layup.
