Tom Brady's legacy as a "clutch" performer is reliant on his 3 SB's for support. The problem is I think he gets way too much credit for those championships. The D was insane, Brady won his first SB with only like 3 offensive TD's in 4 playoff games.

Since Brady has come into his prime (post Spygate) the Patriots have 0 championships and Tom Brady has a playoff record of 7-6. Wha' happen?

I voted no. Like you said those defenses were great, he was nothing more than a game manager. He also had the most clutch kicker in the history of the league. Without Adam V and those great defenses he has 0 SB wins.

What happened is he's got nobody on the outside to throw to.

They lost the game.....not sure how much you can make out of that. Its not like Brady threw a last minute INT to choke the game away. They got beat by a miracle catch and Eli being Eli.

14 points isn't a choke job against a mediocre D? They were the most dynamic offense ever. The game shouldn't have been close for a miracle play to make a difference.

His penalty caused a safety. Forced Pats to go for TD at the end instead of a field goal. Threw an int while driving. A field goal there by the pats seals the game probably.

Not to mention missing a wide open Welker that would've put the game away. Welker is getting torched cause he got both hands on it, but the dude had to make a tough adjustment because Brady threw it high and over the wrong shoulder of a wide open guy.

But I think he was talking about SB XLII, anyways

Brady is a very good qb. But playing for bellicheat gets him the extra hype. Consider the back up qb won 10 games. Always thought if Brady & Manning switched teams, Peyton would have 3 rings and Brady would probably be considered an above average qb.

If Indy had a backup that was more along the talent of a Cassell rather than a Painter, they would have won a lot more games.

Brady is very good now, not great. He was no more than Brad Johnson or Trent Dilfer for his 3 rings.

Agreed. SB XLII, was lost by the Pats Oline. Giants front 4 was a nasty group that year.

Not sayin Cassell was a bum but the Pats have one of the best coaching staffs in the NFL. That has benefited Brady a lot

Errbody gotta hate on Tom cause of the do #hairenvy

No doubt he's a very good QB. I just don't understand the "clutch" talk. Certain people get labeled clutch, and others get labeled choker, and they can never shake those labels, no matter what they do.

Lebron James has made more game-winners at a much higher frequency than D-Wade, but every "expert" in the biz thinks D-Wade should take the last shot. Their preconceived perceptions distort reality.

All Brady had to do was beat 2 teams (Ravens and Giants) with a winning record this season, and he couldn't do it.

You are high as hell and this post is proof of your unhealthy hate and jealously of Tom Brady

Hate, yes. Jealousy, no. He was just a game manager, his best seasons have been of late and he has 0 rings over that time span. He has only those defenses and Adam V to thank for his rings.

You are probably the only person on the planet that would say the Brady was "just a game manager".

This is funny. Of course you blame Welker for not catching a ball thrown high and over the wrong shoulder. Tom Brady cannot be questioned.

Both of them deserve blame, but he was wide open, and the throw was the easy part of the equation.

Who was facing more pressure on that throw, Brady or Welker. Hell, Deion Branch dropped on that might well have been a TD as he had miles ahead of him to run. Both guys are NFL receivers, and if you can get both hands on it in the NFL, in any semblence of space, there is no excuse not to catch the ball.

Since Brady was facing absolutely no pressure, and Welker didn't know if he needed to brace for impact while trying to catch a bad throw, I'd say Welker faced more pressure. He totally had a clean pocket to step into the throw.
