Israel to Expand Settlements in West Bank

I understand that. Even alot of Christians believe there will be a temple during the tribulation. Since I was a kid people have been saying the temple is about to be built. The net result is I quit paying attention to it.
I'm normaly sarcastic so I understand the confusion but my question was a serious one. Has there been recent progress on a new temple?

There are no plans that I know of (since rebuilding the Temple requires the destruction of the Dome of the Rock). Moreover, I do not believe that Jerusalem (at least the old city) belongs under the Israel government. I think it still has international city status and is administered by the UN.

Of course, the more the Palestinians look like radicals who do not want to play along, the more "credibility" it gives the state of Israel in pushing for complete jurisdiction over Jerusalem.

Either way, each side desperately wants control of the Temple Mount. If the Jews get control and recommission the Sanhedrin, the consequences could very well be scary for both Muslims and Christians.

To say that the side that demands the complete annihilation of the other isn't somewhat more at fault for the ongoing conflict than the other is even more laughable and silly. :salute:

Your side ( yes yours) do not say it in the open, but they actually do it, their actions speak louder than simple words.

Do not be surprised when the consequence reaches YOU.:hi:

The roadmap to peace called for the end of rocket attacks on kindergartens etc.

The Arabs have taken 77% of the land of the original mandate, they expelled the ones living in refugee camps.

If the surrounding Arab countries care so much about their fellow Arabs, why don't they make a home for them in those countries.

Judea and Samaria are part of the Israeli state, they have the right to build all the settlements they want.

Well isn't that the little A-hole that could solution.....

our body is the temple ... the Spirit dwells within us.

1)all governments are corrupt.
ask the Cherokee how they feel and if they want their land back.

2)it's hard for alot of people to choose the refugees over Israel. I still have that image of the refugees dancing in the streets while the towers fell on 9/11. I've also been there. The Jews love Americans. The refugees either put up with or hate us.

3)i ageee we should allow Israel to stand on here own. The problem is they would wipe out all their enemies. We're the only reason they haven't smacked Iran and started ww3.

Yes, all governments are corrupt. I won't argue that.

You ever think the reason the refugees hate us is because we have openly sided with the Jews? OS, no disrespect, but using the imagery of 9/11 to support a weak arguement is just that, weak. Ignorant people celebrating something they had no part in does not make them evil. Did I like that they were taking enjoyment from a tragedy? No, but I also understand to them, it was like someone had stood up for them. They celebrated it. If we hope to prevent that, we have to build bridges. We have to give them reasons not to hate us. What is the imagery they have of us? We side with their enemy, we invade Arab countries, and we demonize all Muslims for the acts of a few.

If they want to start a war with Iran, I really don't care as long as we don't support it. As for it being WWIII, that only happens if nukes are used and both sides are f'ing themselves if they do that. Other than that, it's just another mideast war. Germany was trying to conquer the world and made a good start of it. They actually threatened the world. No country in the mideast has that kind of power.

People talk about how the Muslims have sworn to wipe out the Jews. The Jews would do the same thing, they're just smart enough not to say it out loud.

OS, I respect that you have a right to your opinion and I know it's not likely to change, but I do believe you see this situation through your faith. I try to put my faith aside and see the POV of both sides. Both sides have committed and been the victims of atrocities. Both sides have blood on their hands. And after years of trying to broker a lasting peace with no success, I say step aside and let what happens happen. It seems the powers in charge don't truly want a peace and we can't force it upon them. It's time to let them work it out for themselves.

Weezy,

You never have to say " with all do respect" I don't get mad when having discussions. This issue carriers no more emotions for me that the discussion you and I had forever ago about Rick Flair and Hulk Hogan being at Tn Football games.
(I have a good memory don't I )
Plus I like you, that helps. I don't respond to people who can't have a civil conversation.
(End of disclaimer)

As far as being a man of faith that's true but does not affect this issue. I see this situation the same as Native Americans loss of the Tennessee valley or the Mexican loss of California. You lost, move on or assimilate into the population.

This why religion is crap, it just makes already difficult situations impossible.

As long as islam exists there will be no separating
religion from the problems.

Do not waste your time trying to change the mind of a chosen one.

There in lies the rub, OS. The Jews do not want to assimilate the Muslims into their population. They are seen as a lower, unwanted caste and are not afforded any protection of rights. The Muslims don't want to move on because they feel much like the Jews that this is their home. They have no judicial recourse so they resort to extremism. Is it right? No, but neither is the way they are treated by Israel.

The U.S. has committed its shares of attrocities. As I've stated elsewhere, The Trail of Tears is among the greatest IMO. Just because it happenned and the world exists as we know it now does not make it right. We cannot undo what has been done we can only try and live with the consequences, good or bad, that ripple through time.

You do have a good memory because I forget what I posted two days ago without reading it again, lol. And I love you too man, in a brotherly way of course. :)

Why would you say that?

netwmd - Palestinians: What’s yours is mine and what’s mine is mine - now let’s sign a peace deal

Stating the truth that Judea and Samaria are parts of Israel (historically, biblically and according to all agreements and UN resolutions) is not a claim, it is a fact.
------------------------------------------

Israel was not created by the UN in 1948. The UN ratified and put its vote to agreements worked out by the League of Nations that went back to the 1920s and prior to the 1920Â’s. Jews have had an almost unbroken connection to the land of Israel for over 3000 years. To deny this fact is to deny Judaism and that is exactly why so-called moderate Muslims and their Jewish friends who claim that Muslims are descendants of Canaanites 7000 years ago, 6400 years before Mohammad, are revising history to make it seem that Islam has more import and permanence in the region than the facts reveal. It is a lie to establish ownership with no basis in reality.
------------------------

That land (Judea and Samaria) was not “captured”; it was repatriated because it was originally set aside in the British Mandate for the Jewish homeland but occupied by Jordan after the 1948 war of aggression. Recall that Jordan made up 77% of the British Mandate but that a major chunk was given to “Palestinians” as a gift to Arab royalty from the British who took over after the disintegration of the Ottoman Empire.
---------------------------

The limitations are not imposed by Israel, they are imposed by a Muslim world not willing to see others as equals and not willing to accept non-Muslim influences in the Middle East. Now the Muslim Brotherhood is negating Egypt’s peace deal with Israel by opening up its borders to Hamas smugglers, reneging on gas deals and threatening to rip up peace deals as if that would help the Egyptian people to re-build a nation mired in poverty — worse poverty by far than exists in Hamas’ Gaza.
------------------------

Peace exists in Israel. Peace does not exist in the countries surrounding Israel. Peace is not and has never been offered to Israel. You cannot tell me that the model of Gaza is normal nor will another Islamic state established in the region erase the root cause of the agony that Muslims are experiencing throughout the Middle East — and that is Islamic rule by dictators and totalitarian leaders.

Replace aryan with judeo christian and judaism with islam and you've probably got the basis for every xenophobic idea generated from the cowpie occupying his skull

You're a little late, Milo. His family committed him several years ago.

gs, just out of curiosity, how would you feel if someone came into your home and claimed it as their own? What if they told you, get out, this is our home now? Would you be angry, or would you accept it and leave? Not a personal attack, just curiosity, because in many ways this is what has happenned with the Palestinians. So what would your reaction be?

As usual, Weezer, I agree with most of what you have to say. It's a complex situation. I know how I come down on the issue, but there's a lot of nuance involved...along with difficult choices.

So what is wrong with Jews building dwellings in Judea and Samaria?

It is their land in their own country.
