Israel vs Palestinians

I diasagree, but that is fine..I could not care less about ego, and to the incompetency, I struggle to understand..
Ego often gets in the way of communication and causes needless conflict. Some things are best ignored which leaves more attention for the bigger battles.

There were some policy issues and while in principle I understand what he was trying to do the tariffs on Chinese goods were worse for the American consumer than it was for China. And he cost American farmers a lot of money.

Based on the limited info about the retaliatory attacks available it appears Israel has shown restraint. That could change based on info as it becomes available.

As it stands now it appears Israel has given Iran a chance to save face. Hopefully they take this opportunity and won't attempt to escalate. If Iran responds and does anything to escalate I don't think there is anything anybody in this administration or others could do in a month window to stop what comes next.

Likely strikes on oil and nuclear infrastructure.

I doubt the attack would have happened with Trump in office.
As the attack was conducted on the 50 year anniversary of the 1973 Yom Kipper War, I think it would have happened regardless.

Maybe without Ukraine entanglement Trump is a strong enoough deterrent as C-in-C to have prevented the attack. That requires resetting one too many dominoes for me to postulate, though.
I don't think there was anything Trump could have done. But that's just my opinion. I do believe that this conflict has been prolonged by weak US leadership, but I'm not convinced Trump is an effective enough leader to have done much better
I've never carried water for Trump, but this is where he would have thrived.

He probably would have supported a total blockade and boisterously put the burden of humanitarian responsibilities on Hamas until the hostages were released.
Criticism from the Squad would have rolled off his back like water off a duck. I think his scathing retorts would have poignantly placed the focus on the hostages.

I don't know that Biden's administration made the U.S. look weak, but they've been ineffective. You can't make noise about arbitrary red lines for one side while providing support for both sides.

the US will get a lot of intelligence on how F-35s performed.
Sounds like they performed as desired.

F-35’s went in and took out Radars. Blinding the Iranians to anything overhead, not just Stealth.

Israelis could fly ground attack with F-16’s at this point.

I saw a news video (cbs?) Claiming that Israels "warplanes" did not enter Irans airspace, instead launching their munitions from right outside it. I find that highly suspect. Unless Israel actually says so, because Iran doesnt have ability to "see" Israeli F35s at night . Its far more likely that they used the obvious tactic like we did in our "shock and awe" campaign over Baghdad sending stealth aircraft in 1st to knock out all the SAMs, then conventional aircraft can do what they want. Iran has nothing that can compete with the IDF F15s. Much less the F35s that they cannot even see.

I actually hope that the claim someone mentioned above in this thread regarding Israel knocking out all the S300 and S400 SAMs is correct. It will be good intel as far as how well the F35s stealth performed vs the S400. We can get info on that new THAAD system we just loaned to Israel also. From what I understand, we only have a few of those deployed on Earth right now. A couple of them are in Israel now.

F-35s would need aerial refueling and Israel has a tiny tanker force afaik. Warzone has article on it and said they used air launched ballistic missiles, but I would think F-35s would be used for SEAD/DEAD.

Ok. Makes sense. So they likely didnt put any aircraft in Iran, where their aimless AAA was firing all night at nothing haha.

Regardless, this was clearly a very reserved attack by Israel trying not to escalate into a wider war. Which is a good thing. I completely understand the folks in Israel who want a wider attack on Iran for all their BS and rhetoric. As well as the desire to make sure Iran doesnt actually field nukes. Yet. Thank God.
