Found it, thanks. The same document says "and also for safeguarding the civil and religious rights of all the inhabitants of Palestine, irrespective of race and religion". Per that Jordan's not 'for the Palestinians". At any rate a bunch of Europeans shouldn't be able to impose national boundaries in Asia.
Palestinians are just Arabs like Swedes are just Scandinavians, Americans are just Brits, and Poles are just Slavs. If they're no different from any other Arab, why then do they speak a particular dialect and why are they not accepted as fellow nationals by any area Arab country? They're no less deserving of nationhood than their neighbors.
Who attacked who again in 67?
The ethnic cleansing of the late 40's is no BS but denial of it is. In the US we've been fed a very sanitized version of those events since they happened. I suppose for a strong supporter such things would be difficult, or inconvenient, to admit. A lot of Serbs, Nigerians, Americans and Turks among others deny their sides' too.
There's no reason the Palestinians' right to exist is not as valid as the Israelis'.
That's indeed an informative article. The Ambassador's comments go against the idea that the Palestinians are compatriots of and belong in a neighboring Arab state. Did you notice his mention that failure of the peace talks in 2000 wasn't on the Palestinians?
The Palestinians are Israel's problem because they're the victims of Israel's afore mentioned ethnic cleansing.
I think part of the issue is that Palestine has NEVER been a nation. Here is a list of people that have owned Israel since the beginning that I put together. Try to find me Palestine:
