No doubt. Solutions have to make sense. But people in highly emotional states are not receptive. You're married, you understand perfectly when you and your wife are in the middle of a "heated fellowship" no one is listening or processing reason and logic.

I get nothing out of it except for problems, I'm gonna stop living there and if you come here and cause problems, I'm gonna kill you." You don't really need her to agree with the solution. You just need her to fear the consequences.

IDK why we need Palestine to agree to a 2-state solution. Israel can do it without their consent. If there are still problems after the fact, wtf is the difference? I actually think it frees up Israel to wage war with more western consent if they are not occupiers. I would certainly view it differently. I don't buy the strategic arguments for Israel maintaining control. Holding Palestine does not seem to be in their best interest.

If the two could live in tolerance of each other, like East and West Berlin, a two state solution would be desirable.

I do. And they aren't.
Palestinians overwhelmingly support Hamas. Read the Hamas charter. In that charter, they are for a two state solution as long as borders go back to 1967. That demand as well as the absence of language which abolishes claim to all of Israel means it is a non starter and non negotiable.

Palestinians and Hamas's PR is for a two state solution.

I have not read Israel's proposal (if any) on a two state solution. But I have serious doubts it would be legitimately acceptable to that side as well.

I am appalled that I am complicit in what's happening to Palestine. Not only does my government represent me, but I'm also paying for the mass killing of innocents. What do I do? I just keep paying my taxes like a fkn coward. This dude did something about it. I wouldn't ever do what he did, but I don't think he's crazy or stupid. He's a person who put more value on a message than his own life.

He died for a cause he believed in, and people here think that's reason that he shouldn't have passed mental health screening for the military. Seems like that's where willingness to die for a cause should be the #1 requirement. Messages like "give me liberty or give me death" are only cool if you don't really mean it, I suppose.

That dude didn't do anything about it. Suicide is a selfish act. I will venture that what was going on on Palestine was probably just the tip of the iceberg and he decided some time ago he was likely going to leave this world.
