Israel vs Palestinians

UNRWA commissioner-general, Philippe Lazzarini, refuses to testify before the House Foreign Affairs Committee in an open session
To make matters worse, Hamas operated this installation by siphoning electricity from UNRWA.?
While we support the pause of future funding to UNRWA, we know that the agency has received roughly $121 million in funding from the State Department since October 1, 2023. Moreover, on January 30, the Committee received public testimony from subject matter experts who testified to these recent allegations and other past UNRWA failures. Their statements stand in sharp contrast to UNRWA's claims.

you appeared before the European Parliament on September 1, 2021, and August 31, 2022, for an Exchange of Views in the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET). If you are willing to appear before the AFET, you surely can and would be willing to appear before the House Foreign Affairs Committee especially given the United States' long term and considerable financial support to UNRWA

Typical UNRWA. Publicly cry about their funding getting cut off, but won't publicly take accountability.

Again, I think it is overwhelmingly obvious neither side is interested in a two state solution. If neither side is interested, and if there would be no difference in conflict after administered, I don't see the logic in the wasted time, energy, and expense of implementation.

If the two could live in tolerance of each other, like East and West Berlin, a two state solution would be desirable.

We, the US, are on Israel's side and our position to Israel should probably be 2-state and if not they lose our support. It's up to them to do it. Maybe they never will do that, but we absolve ourselves of this perpetual insanity.

I'd be happy to remove support, regardless.

It's well passed time for other countries to stand or fall based on their own ability.

Why would the US place an ultimatum on them, when the other half of the two state equation have repeatedly said they will not recognize the legitimacy of Israel?

If you want to pull support for them fine, but not based on failing to accept something potentially is not in their best interest.

I’m also failing to see what he believes is gained by a two state solution. If we declared Gaza a state today, what is so different than yesterday?

It’s possible I’m missing something

I may be wrong but I think Huff is saying what they're doing now isn't working. Doing something new is better than SSDD so why not give it a try even if odds are slim.

I certainly wish they could find something that would be amenable to both sides and we could achieve peace from here on out. I don't believe that's possible, nor will it ever be, unfortunately. That's why Israel is taking the track they are right now.

I am not optimistic either.

Both parties must be married to the two State solution and the Palestinians have not been on board. I don't trust they are now either.

You can't force a solution neither accepts.

Stalker? Lmao.

You came in here all tough “I don’t hide”.

Now you’re hiding by refusing to answer.
And you’re whining about it to boot.

Lol you and @Vol8188 had to go back several years to cherry pick a post that had nothing to do with anything I posted, engineer an angle…claim that your “intuition” ranks supreme over “free press”, call me anti-Semitic…try to induce some guilt…get butt hurt for not getting what you want…then follow me around like a lost puppy BEGGING for snack…

Some weak lunacy…

It’s not cherry picking if it accurately represents your views. You doubled down agreeing that not only do you still believe that, but that we should add “the media and politics” too.

A biased poll. To say the Israelis are trying to minimize casualties is disgusting.

Compare the civilian casualties in 2 years of fighting in Ukraine vs 5+ months of fighting in Gaza and holla back at me.
I know. Harvard has never been accused of Antisemitism. Now they are being anti Antisemitism. Sly dogs.

It’s the definition of cherry picking. Doubled down AFTER your cherry picking(because you couldn’t debate the topic at hand) and your anti-Semitic claim…obviously it wouldn’t of mattered to you or the straw man you deployed.

lol no strawman was deployed but keep crying

Iran's Jewish Population Belies Claims Of Tehran's Genocidal Intent

Khomeini lauded Moses as one of three prophets sent by God to guide humanity. Then, to the great relief of his guests, he drew a sharp distinction between the Israeli government and Iran’s Jews, declaring:

“Moses would have nothing to do with these pharaoh-like Zionists who run Israel. And our Jews, the descendants of Moses, have nothing to do with them either. We recognize our Jews as separate from those godless, bloodsucking Zionists.”

Khomeini then issued a fatwa — an Islamic religious leader’s formal decree — asserting that Jews are a protected minority and forbidding violence against them.
