I don't care about who wins an election. The last 2 winners for potus were Donald Trump and Joe Biden. Does it really get worse? Maybe if people started voting for ideas rather than their team color it wouldn't be such a dream
No, we have elected officials. I do not see any leaders. Making politics a team sport is the biggest folly (and we were warned from the outset).Whether you like it or not, we do have leaders. They do get elected. Elections do matter. How many people do you know personally that even take the time to develop an idea to vote on much less find out what a politicians real positions are? Red or blue, whether you like it or not are your choices.

I haven't voted red or blue for potus in decades. I also would never do a straight party vote. That's for morons
It doesn't change as long as we accept it. If we demand better we get better. We are settling.Whether you like it or not, we do have leaders. They do get elected. Elections do matter. Unless we force change. Like the recent runs on markets, there are ways to flank them playing their game with a hand that can't lose.Never will be much of a difference given that national level politicians are bought and paid for years before they get there
No we are not.Like I said the other day, cybersecurity is going to be massive going forward. One person could take out infrastructure to kill millions of people. I think the USA is far behind in that regard
I'm not completly opposed to stopping all foreign aid. But the world will suffer as a result. Would you also cut domestic spending knowing people would suffer?
Stuxnet was offensive, which as I'm afraid as our football team will prove a good offense does not guarantee a good defense. I would almost guarantee this happened because they had some controller running some unsupported version of Windows because for many companies security is only something you invest in with a surplus. No we are not.
Like 10 years ago under Obama we shut down an irianian nuclear facility with some super malware.
The USA still has the power baby.
It's no better or worse than anyone else as far as I can tell.Stuxnet was offensive, which as I'm afraid as our football team will prove a good offense does not guarantee a good defense. Offense can be as good as it wants to be if you can't protect yourself. This isn't a kill before you are killed scenario. Also you are talking about the government but this was a crippling attack against a non-gov't entity. It's no better or worse than anyone else as far as I can tell.
I believe the offense is way ahead of the defense in this current age of cyber warfare
That was Israel that took out the Iranian nuclear facility with software bugs.No we are not.

It's pretty widely accepted that was a collaboration. I think we officially still deny involvement but that's a story that's been told before. That was Israel that took out the Iranian nuclear facility with software bugs.
The US under Reagan during the Cold War did take out a Russian oil facility with software bugs that pretty much bankrupted Russia. The wall fell shortly after.
I was a software programmer for a government contractor back then. It was Israel. The US government panicked at the time on how to protect our own nuclear facilities as a result of Stuxnet. The malware had the specific serial numbers of the Iranian centrifuges. The malware would only effect that specific equipment. The software even gave false readings to the Iranians so they didn't know the centrifuges were not working until it was too late. It's pretty widely accepted that was a collaboration. It was said at the time that the Israeli spies dropped thumb drives with the Stuxnet malware near the Iranian Nuclear Facility and there own employees plugged the thumb drives in the computer system. Not sure if this part was true but it makes a cool story.
