Why wouldt they count on that? The IDF has repeatedly proven for years that they're happy to flatten whole inhabited apartment blocks and refugee camp sections to claim one or two hamas targets.

Yea, they know IDF will strike them wherever they choose to stand.

Dead Palestinians in the streets is good business for Hamas, and Hamas knows how to create dead Palestinians in the streets.

But what they count on most is the reaction.

More dead civilians and the Smooth brained morons across the globe will see that and be "outraged" while forgetting the whole murder/rape/kidnapping thing that Hamas did last October, all to gin up support to their "cause". And let me remind you that little October thing last year by Hamas included the murder and rape of not only men, but women, and children.

The IDF is the one doing the huge share of the killing so they'd naturally get the blame, but how does that blame help hamas?
