It’s for the same reason the Palestinians send their children out to bait IDF… and press “record”.

The outcry and response places far more pressure on the Israelis than any act of terror perpetrated by the Palestinians ever could.

What Hamas is doing is using civilians as propaganda. As well as future a current recruiting tool. What they are doing is "lawfare" I believe..basically hiding among civilians to induce casualties which they can then claim war crimes and look sympathetic in the weak kneed westerners

Until recently, as in this year, there's very seldom been any significant outcry or response. Israel's Uncle Sam has taken care of that for them. That recent outcry and response may in the long term help Palestine but how does it help hamas?

Maybe you should ask Hamas. This POS killed her own kids and is an elected official. They truly care so much about their people.

I’m not sure you were paying attention but we went into at length at one point. If you were you’d remember it was at the point where @hog88 @McDad and I were saying that siege warfare was the better strategy as…..wait for it……”Hamas could not use their shields as a tool to garner sympathy”.

I don't think all that makes hamas look sympathetic to the west. It does highlight the plight of the general population there though.
If reports on Lavender and Where's Daddy are correct, then it's more difficult to say that hamas is hiding behind civilians when the IDF waits until they're home with their families to bomb them.

Pretty sure it was Uncle Sam that pulled the Israelis off the Palestinian terrorists the last time around.

But, obviously, the response lightens IDF’s hand. It doesn’t stay their hand, but it does lighten it - and that certainly benefits Hamas.

Others can admittedly speak to it better than I can. But the last time the Palestinians launched terror attacks, and the Israelis responded in force - don’t believe that lasted long, and they eventually caved to pressure from the US to let em up.

Any break in the action, any constraints on IDF tactics, all of that lightens the pressure on Hamas.

You may argue it’s only a dial down from ‘10’ to ‘9’, but it is pressure reduction. And that benefits Hamas.
