I wish I had you as a parent growing up. I got an F. Well at least you win and took the test… 😉
I'd taught you how to read that's for sure 😉

Seriously though. If you think my first post was all "I hope they have fun cause they got 5 star hearts and are champions of life" then it went went over you're head.

But it ain't that big a deal anyway. Just message board fodder.

Hope he stays, improves and his attitude is contagious.

So … he will come back. Will his coming back force our hand to make him a starter ? Would we be better if he vacated his spot and we took a flyer on a disgruntled transfer ? Will he improve and be a solid starter - or maybe an experienced plug and play guy ? I don’t see a problem with his return and we may benefit from it. If you can’t trust the staff to play our most able players - and if he is or isn’t that player - we’re already in trouble.

Lol when a player has had 5 different coaches and is still ass it’s not the coaching

The person who posted the need for an actual coach to coach up is right. Too many coaches and teachers, as well, are darn good at criticizing, belittling, basically tearing down rather than building up. Look at the mis-coached players from the Butch Jones era, some which were much maligned by fans. Yet, once in the pros as undrafted free agents, shined when they finally got REAL coaching.

I do agree with this to an extent. BUT there are still players that could have the best coaches in the biz and they just don’t have it …

McCollough is one of those guys who will look a lot better when the guys around him are better. Some guys can stretch themselves to make up for the weaknesses of others. He's not one of those guys. He has to play within his own responsibilities to be successful.

Glad he's coming back. That helps.

Well, two things. One, is who signed and kept them on the team? Two, I will cheer our kids come hell or high water, I'm a Vols fan, and when I say that, I mean it. When the players go out and sweat, give their best effort week after week, I will stand in their corner. I'm a Vols fan!!! As long as they aren't committing criminal acts or badmouthing the university, I'm in their corner. Because I believe they remain at the UT because they WANT to be here, whether you or any other fan want them here or not. Go Vols!!!

I hope you’re right here. Flowers was a liability, so perhaps improving that other safety spot will make JM better. I’d like to see Walker take Flowers’ spot. He looked good there against Vandy. Might start there again in the bowl.

If I had my rathers it would be Slaughter but I like Walker too.

Honestly, I think UT has safeties that can play. They're just being asked to play CB.

reading is fun-da-men-tal:

Yes it is. Try it sometime.
Gentlemen,
I read an article about Jaylen McCollough and I thought VolNation would like to see that information. I posted the thread. I think I gave my take on Jaylen speaking in a manner which exemplified a great culture. A philosophy seeded and grown by CJH and staff. Nothing more, nothing less. Had nothing to do with Flowers. I hope both guys succeed in life (not meant the way Botch Jones did).

I do too. I was just pointing out how McCollough gets thrown to the wolves every time his name is mentioned even though the rest of the secondary has its flaws too and he's the best DB we have. Not the first player it's happened too though. Kind of a running theme.

He's NOT the best db we have. McCullough would be a great LB. i think he could start as a coverage lb
