Did she say only reason?
That is the truth! We don't really know. In fact, we don't really know exactly why we vote for a person or not.
I'm being serious. We try to be rational about it and say it's b/c of x,y,z policies, etc. But there are a whole host of reasons that go beyond our comprehension. Which is why we will almost always vote for someone who passes the gut check.
"If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position."
I deduce that she's attributing it to the combination of his skin color and gender. If he weren't a black man, he wouldn't have received the support he did.
Ferraro, a Clinton supporter, made the comments while arguing the former first lady hasn't gotten a fair shake from the press.
"For one thing, you have the press, which has been uniquely hard on her," Ferraro said. "It's been a very sexist media. Some just don't like her. The others have gotten caught up in the Obama campaign."
Ferraro was unrepentant about her comments. She said she has a 40-year history of opposing all kinds of discrimination and that she was speaking from a historical context, noting that she would not have been chosen as Walter Mondales running mate in 1984 if she had been a man.
at least save the excuse making until he has a reasonable chance of winning. Then when you start, add 9/11 to the Clinton slate and the massive welfare state to FDR.You can blame Bush for any high taxes too. We have slim down the record setting debt we've acquired under Bush somehow.
