It is time we stop claiming Florida and Pittsburgh as good wins

Both teams suck

Pittsburgh lost to Georgia Tech and is about to lose to Louisville to fall 4-3

Florida is 4-3 and about to be 4-4

Those games are actually embarrassing that we didn't beat both teams by 3+ TDs.
Really? Didn’t we actually lose to a bad Fla team last year?

After the last decade, it’s been hard to adjust to this season’s success. But we should probably stop denigrating ourselves for winning games,

Same fans are clamoring about 4 ranked teams.

Florida and Pittsburgh are NOT ranked teams nor will they be anytime soon. Pittsburgh maybe one of the worse teams in the ACC right now and it took overtime to beat them.

Is the QB they are starting right now the same player?

If not, why is he not starting?

It doesn’t even matter though. We’re undefeated with a dominating win over Lsu in Death Valley and a win over a top 3 Bama team. Who has Georgia or Ohio state beat?
We’re experiencing a season where we are 7-0 and already have wins over Florida, Lsu, and Alabama and this is what you’ve got on your mind? Cry more

Both of those teams would be 5-2 if we didn’t beat them. That’s the thing about winning, it makes your schedule look worse.
This is such an important point, and so often lost on guys like the OP.

If we hadn't beaten them:
  • Pitt -- 5-2, not doing great in the ACC-Coastal race but still a respectable team and still the defending ACC champion.
  • Florida -- 5-2, going into the World's Greatest Outdoor Cocktail Party ranked probably somewhere around #14 (just above #15 Utah).
  • LSU -- 7-1, challenging Bama for command of the West, ranked Top 10.
  • Bama -- 8-0, #1 in the land, widely seen as the most powerful team in college football yet again this year.
So @volbound1700 , ease off on the hysterics. We're 7-0. We're undefeated. We're about to play two very important games, one after the other. We're favored to win one handily, and the other will be a real dog fight (I mean blue tick hound against bulldog kind of real).

Try to enjoy the season; they don't often come this fun.

Go Vols!

Would you feel better if we lost those games? Both wins are good wins at the time we won them. Look forward.

What does it feel like to be 7-0 and still find things to complain about?

It's all perspective. Instead of ripping our team for the Florida win (that feels weird to even type), maybe we should be talking about how great of a win that absolute dismantling of LSU was.

Like I said above, we're a much better team than we were in week two, imo.

Who in this thread, including my OP ripped the team? Just saying they are not wins to brag about anymore, especially Pittsburgh.

The Bama win alone gives us the best resume. Coming into the season we were told it was UGA, Bama, OSU as the clear cut title favorites and they were head and shoulders above everyone else. 8 weeks in only 1 of those 3 has a loss. If we beat UGA idc if the rest of the schedule was against region 3 6A high school football, we got the best resume.

You just need to move onto a different topic because you aren’t doing yourself any favors.

I don’t discount the wins at Pitt and vs Florida at home. I do believe playing Kentucky at home will be a bigger challenge than Florida was and that game down at South Carolina will be a tougher one than the game at Pitt. I don’t want to over look anyone but I don’t see us losing to Missouri or Vandy - should be say wins if we come to play. The other three will be hard fought games with the outcome to be decided.

I put this team’s ceiling at 9-3 and I’m sure hoping I was wrong!

Pittsburgh lost to Georgia Tech and Louisville who are two of the worse teams in the ACC. That is like losing to Missouri and Vanderbilt in the SEC.

Agree. 11-1 is looking likely but fans need to calm down about Clemson, Ohio State, and playoffs when it took overtime to beat mediocre ACC team. Clemson isn't Pittsburgh.

We really don't know how good SEC is as a conference because they haven't done that well against ACC for example and haven't played the B1G.
