Who cares? We won. Do you think Georgia is complaining about being undefeated right now? Do you think those Bama wins over Arky and Texas look that great now? None of it matters. We did what we had to do. If the national media wants to invent an excuse not to rank us higher well that’s out of our hands because right now nobody ahead of us has done any more than we have.

Same Alabama team should have lost to Texas and Texas A&M. I heard fans bragging Big12 was best league. I am just wondering if SEC is overrated since you got LSU who lost to Florida State on top of West and Tennessee who nearly lost to Pittsburgh tied for top of East.

We can't really brag we are better than Clemson or Ohio State until we play them (if we do at all)

You are really twisting yourself up in knots trying to discount our current season. Why are you so willing to die on this hill? Seems like an absolutely miserable place to live

All you can measure is how good your opponent is on the day you play them. Pitt & Fla were ranked on the day Tenn played them. Their seasons could have changed from injuries, team structure, coaching or just bad luck. I’d say Tennessee last week would beat both easily. But teams change as the season progresses. Some get better, some get worse. Still doesn’t mean they were not a serious challenge in week 2 or 4.

That same Alabama team played Texas in their 2nd game of the season and played A&M with a backup QB that clearly isn’t ready to play. The Alabama team that just dominated Miss St is the real Alabama. Whenever they have Bryce Young they are a completely different team. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. We are definitely better than Clemson. They benched their freaking quarterback. Ohio St is a separate issue. They have such a weak schedule that we won’t know how good they really are until they play Michigan.

Teams progressively get worse or better throughout a season. The same team that played a month or so ago isn’t the same team that is playing right now. Like I said earlier, you aren’t doing yourself any favors with this topic. You should move on.

We played the schedule of games, not knowing the teams future records.We can brag about being 7-0. Clemson struggled yesterda.

Another point: why on earth should we care that Florida sucks? Good, I hope they continue to suck for a good while. Do you think they looked back over the last 20 years and thought, “man that Tennessee win doesn’t look that good?”

Losing to Pittsburgh would NOT show they are legit. Pittsburgh wasn't legit when they lost at home to Georgia Tech who has been one of the worse programs in the nation. Pittsburgh is 1-2 in arguably the worse division in College Football and it took OT for us to beat them. I agree that we won but step outside of SEC land and you are going to hear about SEC being overrated and they will point to that game and Texas vs Alabama plus LSU losing to FSU as examples.

Sure. As soon as UGA stops counting Auburn, Mizzou, and South Carolina as good wins and OSU stops counting Notre Dame, Michigan State and Iowa as good wins.

I was being sarcastic. But, to be honest, we are 7-0 and number 3 in the country. If that isn’t legit I don’t know what is. As long as we keep winning the rest of the country can kiss our orange behinds. Both of those teams were ranked and in different places mentally when we played them. A win is a win is a win.

Every one on here, this is a classic example of why that Florida and Pittsburgh thread exists. You say that about South Carolina but it took overtime for us to beat one of the worse ACC teams.
