It's really f-ing great that we took care of business against Alabama and LSU, cuz it shows that we can legitimately beat good teams, and do it on the road. The Vols look fantastic and I'm loving the ride. But yeah, I check Pitt and Fla every week hoping they win, so that it solidifies our future arguments for a CFP bid if/when it comes down to a narrow decision. Too bad those wins are starting to look less impressive than they did at the time.

But as someone else here pointed out, what's more important is what they were ranked at the time. That's why I rooted for KY last week, and for GA all season. We can beat these teams, and legitimately claim the toughest schedule in the country.

I think it’s also important to point out that Florida’s losses really don’t matter too much to us because they lost to our opponents - UK and LSU. We already throttled LSU. Hopefully we take care of business against the Cats this week.

The Florida and Pittsburgh thread exists, because you originated it, in effort to disparage Tennessee's strength of schedule. Tennessee's 27 point road win over LSU, and their home win over Alabama are much harder to undermine ... Therefore, you would rather talk about two games that were played in September.

As the season moves along, teams get more beat up, so injures, grind-weariness, and other factors can make them less than what they were at season start. And some teams that were not so good, get better with experience, then there are psychological factors that can come in to play. Things like coaching changes mid-season, fan anger or apathy, maybe even being Leach-ed.

Pittsburgh is 1-2 in arguably the worse division in College Football and it took OT for us to beat them. I agree that we won but step outside of SEC land and you are going to hear about SEC being overrated and they will point to that game and Texas vs Alabama plus LSU losing to FSU as examples.

Who has a better resume than Tennessee right now? I’ll take Tennessees wins over Florida, at lsu, and bama over anything Georgia or Ohio state have done.

Some of you are right. I don't need to be negative. Last negative thread. I do think our fan base needs to be more humble considering the last 3 years. I will stop watching Pittsburgh, they just infuriate me.

Both teams seem to be playing for pride at this point and apparently don’t have much . Players from florida are announcing intent to hit the portal. They were different teams when we played them. Pitt was second game of season, hooker was off with his passes and Pitt still had hope of playing for another championship. Florida was a 17 point game with 5 minutes left, they still had hope as well at that point. We dominated that game and wasn’t close as the final score. Even when they came storming back, I wasn’t very concerned that we would lose. My point is that both teams were better when we played them than they are now.

You could argue Clemson with wins over Wake, Syracuse, NC State, and Florida State. TCU also won at Oklahoma State and beat Kansas State.

You got it. It appears that BVS is terminal in some cases. The media and BVS narrative is that Tennessee sucks. If Tennessee wins, the opponent must REALLY suck if they lost to Tennessee. If Tennessee loses, the response is “I told you they suck.”

Also we are #3 in nation. I think we are getting plenty of respect.

Nope! Get with the BVS narrative. If Bama hadn’t had all those penalties and if we hadn’t scored all those points, Bama would have beaten us easily.
