It's apparent after Bryce Brown's performance tonight...

So once again you are OK with UT wasting a scholly on a kid saving himself for the NFL? Hey he's 21 and making millions...so what if we fork over $100 for a ticket to see a kid do nothing...you're ok with that? Alrighty then ZJC. Please buy me season tix next year.:good!:

UT spent one year's tuition and maybe some summer school on Bryce Brown. Bryce, in turn, had almost 500 yards rushing, had a few TD"s, and played well his freshman year at UT, the only year he was on scholly at UT.

So no, not a wasted scholly. Seems fine to me. Not like UT paid Brown $600K or anything.

And Bryce isn't making millons. He's having to work very hard as a 7th round pick and seems to be doing very well with his chance.

Reminds me some of Jamal Lewis. He definitely played not to get hurt his last year.[/QU Couldn't agree more! That's why I never followed him in his pro career.

Considering Jamal Lewis is one of six 2K rushers, made over $40M, won a Super Bowl, and reached a dream of 10K rushing yards, I'm sure he doesn't care that you didn't follow him.

Can't believe Dooley let a talent like Bryce walk out the door. I'd love to hear both sides of that story

Considering what we know about Dooley, maybe Bryce saw the writing on the wall and decided to get the hell out? I mean, I wouldn't want to have 300 carries for losing teams.

"I'll give my all for Tennessee" doesn't mean I'll coast 4years until I'm set for life at the cost of my teammates, fans, and anyone else not in my inner circle. That is all.

What's his contract look like compared to Trent Richardson's?

I'm sorry. When was Bryce Brown the feature back at Tennessee? That'd be never.

Again, go ahead and call out a 21 year old who's making six figures and living his dream and did nothing illegal about it on a message board. That integrity is looking really good.
You guys posting back to back in the same thread is confusing as hell.

No kidding - huge difference between his Frosh and Junior year. His freshman year, he looked like Hershel. His junior year....not so much.

First off, Bryce didn't play four years at UT. He played one and did well.

Second, who cares what Bryce does to you? Are you donating millions to the football program? Okay then, stop complaining.

Third, Bryce isn't set for life. Far from it.

Fourth, I suggest you stop putting so much effort into athletes on an emotional level.

Probably. Bryce seemed like a pretty smart dude and Dooley probably played the tough guy saying my way or the highway. No offense to Poole but he just wasn't good enough and Dooley should have recognized that

It's obvious Bryce was being pulled in so many different directions that they didn't know what to do.

I don't understand. Players leave after coaching changes all the time. A coaching change occurred.

I'm sure as hell confident it's not millions.

And what does it matter? Bryce played one year at UT. He got one year of free tuition at UT. Bryce did a good job and never dogged it, nor did anything illegal. He didn't steal any money from the university, nor did he do anything wrong to the university, just like the university did nothing wrong to him.

But go ahead and cry about he's not a VFL or whatever the hell that means.

Finally we agree. I absolutely agree he was a kid being pulled in several directions and did what he was told. Bryce himself said he loved UT. I blame the scumbags living large off his current paycheck for robbing everybody, most importantly Bryce of being a college stud. Watch Kenny Chesney "Boys of Fall"...you get one shot and it's gone forever, as you well know. The NFL will use Bryce up and spit him out.

Then what's the issue here?

And you have no idea if that will work. It hasn't yet, and he was a 7th round pick that had to make the team. So far, he's gotten past the hardest part.

Based on what information? Gut feeling? Whim? Or just an uninformed conclusion?

I'd like it for a reporter to revisit that whole episode again but from what I remember Dooley was acting like he didn't care what he did and seemed to favor the upperclassmen, when he should have been selling himself, the program and Bryce's future at UT as a star.

Dooley let a 5 star talent walk out the door and he didn't seem to care. Obviously whatever Dooley was selling, the Brown camp wasn't buying

I would guess that his dad looked at Dooley and immediately sized him up as a loser and demanded that Bryce get the hell out. Everything about his career up to that point makes sense. What I don't understand is what happened at KSU. He cost himself a ridiculous amount of money there.

Just set the Philly rookie rushing record for a game. Broke Buckwalters mark of 134, and only halfway thru third qaurter.
