It blows my mind that some fans think that there is a line of top tier coaches, (Gruden, Cowher, etc.) Waiting outside the AD door, with resume in hand. Strong is an excellent pick if true, the man shut our offense down for years, pretty well might I add. Most big time college coaches didn't start out at the top, they were in the same exact situation as charlie strong is, if this is true let's just see what happens

I can still cheer on the team without supporting this coach....if we win I will be happy for the players and if we lose I will blame him....easy....until he proves he belongs I will not give him any credit at all...and BANDWAGON is for people who are not invested in anything to do with the sport or university....sorta like a casual fan....only cheers or goes to the big games to be seen...I live and die TN.....so yes I want a proven coach who has won on the big stage i.e. Patterson, Gundy or Davis

Just read that Louisville players are tweeting, they were contacted by Strong over the rumors and assured them he will be their coach next year.

Neither you nor I know how the interviews went, who was interested, and what price figures were discussed so it is pointless to speculate either way. It is also incredibly ridiculous to claim Hart needs to be fired when we don't know these facts, nor has Strong coached a single game at UT meaning that we have no idea how this hire will end up.

It is our way of saying we do not support this hire....it is the only way the administration will hear us is by not spending our money on them.....I will still cheer the team...just not the coach.....and why should I spend my money on something unproven....if he was a new stock in the stock market....would you invest? No, you would wait to see how it performs first....

Gundy would be good. He has never recruited the SEC, nor had a defense. Petrino has left both schools in a world of hurt. Hired his booty call on university money. Won't be able to recuit a lick with how families will view him. Butch never won more than 8 games in his time at UNC with incredible talent in a weak conference.

If true, I hope he has a two dollar buy out. Would not pay several million to retain him. Make him prove his worth. If he is a winner, then make a new contract. That bunch in Knoxville may have entrance standards second only to Vandy but they are finacial idiots when it comes to signing football coaches.

unfortunately yes I did.....that is the reason I will not support Strong bc he is really just as unproven as those two....been burned twice.....thats on me...will not happen again until he wins the East...anything less is just mediocrity which I will not support

I can dig that man... But you gotta give whoever we hire support IMO to be a true fan. Im not talkin smack just stating fact. No matter the coach he needs our support. He is leagues above Dooley and not to far off the others.

In my fantasy world we would Hire Gundy and then talk Davis into being the DC....that is a win/win....
