It's Done - Strong will be announced [unconfirmed]

Bringing in someone with ties to UT doesn't mean that they have to have graduated from there does it . Gruden got his coaching career started at UT under Majors , his wife was a cheerleader at UT . This means that HE HAS TIES TO UT , pretty good ties at that.

Well if Strong gets hired, then he too would have ties to Tennessee.

Great hire if true.People who sre saying they arent impressed at what he's done as Louis dont follow footbsll much. He took over a horrible mess with zero talent. Its pretty amazing that he has thsm in a bcs bowl in yr 3.

It's less amazing when you look at the competition in the Big Least and factor in the champion gets an automatic bid. It gets even less impressive when you realize his two losses were Syracuse and UConn(seriously UConn??!!).

I'm not trying to belittle Strong. The truth is, of the options supposedly left on the board, he probably is the best choice. But it's a sad truth. It's sad because it shows no name coaches want to come here. Despite having topnotch facilities and the largest recruiting budget in the nation, we can't draw interest from the big boys. Like it or not, Strong is a risk. He hasn't proven he can be a HC in a competitive conference.

Some of ou guys are unbelievable. All someone needs to do is type a statement and you take it for gospel. Remember Randy Shannon? Remember John Gruden? Is our fan base that naive?

Considering a lot of our fan base actually thought Gruden was coming to UT (and some still do), I must answer in the affirmative that yes, our fan base is that naive.

Strong is a realistic candidate, though.

This is the sad truth.

Last 3 coaches to move on from louisville:

John L. Smith
Bobby Petrino
Steve Kragthorpe

None are still coaching.

When we absolutely have to get it right this is the well that we draw from?

Im not saying he will fail, but yall have to admit he is high risk. Not that different from the last coach we had as far as the unknown.

Just saying, if you are going to belittle other posters and question their intelligence you might want to put together a coherent post. :acute:

Probably...but sometimes.when the brain is working faster than your fingers and your phone! I could have used big words...but after reading through this brain trust...I figured straight up and direct would be quicker.

So anybody else hearing it's Gundy if he wants it? Saw Swain's tweet and heard it second hand from ADept source.

I love how you try to take this seriously when Petrino is one of the coaches you list.

Their coaching ability has absolutely nothing to do with that of Charlie Strong. Also, do you not think Petrino is a good coach (on the field)?

Petrino will be hired somewhere soon, its not a coaching issue.

Kragthrope is still coaching QBs at LSU. He was the offensive coordinator but has some major health issues so he went back to QB coach.

John L had a job until a few weeks ago, age isn't his friend at this point.
