It's Done - Strong will be announced [unconfirmed]

So his big draw seems to be in the Miami area. Are there anything to the rumors that one of his "guys" have ties to Shapiro and that has helped his recruiting in that area? I know I read that somewhere and it's interesting you mentioned Miami as being "his spot". Sounds kind of like the handlers in Memphis.

I haven't heard any rumors about shady recruiting with Strong in mia.

He has players from Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Texas too.

If it really is Strong, then oh well. Not excited about the hire in the least, but maybe he'll get the job done. Otherwise we'll be right back here in three years looking for yet another coach.

If is Strong and we offered him 3.75 mil a year, Hart needs to have his head examined. No way he is worth that much money.

I'm guessing this search is down to Gundy and Strong. I'd take either but I'm leaning to Gundy.

I'm with you. Give me an experienced HC from a major conference than a newly minted HC from a weak conference.

Gundy all day.

Are you blind? Tennessee is coming off 3 straight losing seasons and has missed a bowl in the past 2. We might have the most rabid fanbase in college football right now and there are issues within the administration. Ok St won a BCS bowl last year and were in the NC picture. They had a solid season this year and are looking to have a better team next year, they also have full support from the administration and lower expectations from the fans in a less competitive conference.

$$$ and a chance to be DC at an SEC school talks

This coaching search has been real and has been good but it hasnt been real good so lets get this done and close this section of Volnation! Come together right now over Strong!

Apparently you can make that leap from Louisiana Tech as well.

Head Coaching Experience:
Richt: 0 years before hired at Georgia.
Muschamp: 0 years before hired at Florida.
Franklin: 0 years before hired at Vandy.
Dan Mullen: 0 years before hired at MSU.
Hugh Freeze: 2 years before hired at Ole Miss.
Sumlin: 3 years before hired at A&M.
Miles: 4 years before hired at LSU.

Just sayin.

Nerd...what do you think of Strong?

Well when I am not mocking his detractors. I am solidly on his side. With talent that is comparable to his peers he seems to be thriving. I think we could do a lot worse than Strong.

I would take Gundy too, but that's his Alma Mater. You leave your old coaching job to go back to Alma Mater, not the other way around.

So Strong is a done deal, but we are going to interview Mora Jr. anyway?

Surprise... someone has some bad info in the UT head football coaching search.
