Your comments are full of ifs. We don't need a guy that we need to be convince is a good hire with a bunch of ifs. No way this hire is anymore of a guarentee than Dooley next yr. This needed to a sure thing hire.

There is no sure thing in the SEC, all you can do is try to find someone who can recruit and coach the players he has....we will be better.

That's the problem, everyone compares him to Dooley. Dooley had a losing record at La Tech and no specialty, offensive or defensive. Louisville just won the Big East and returns 17 starters next yr. Those my friend are facts

So happy UT hired the JV coach if true.

Losing to Syracurse, Ky, and Uconn in your career should disqualify you from being a coach at UT.

Strong and Gundy is who Hart wants, and he will get one of them. Either one is a bigger hire than any other schools got today. Neither were on my list at first, but they are the two best coaches available who are interested in leaving their school. I'm OK with it, it seems like Hart done a pretty good job to me.

Yes because there are so many coaches out there who have never ever lost a game to an inferior opponent. Please go on.

Jim Chaney is 1-0.

But realistically, they do not exist.

Strong will be a great recruiter and a solid coach. If you have ever watched his teams, they are motivated and disciplined (something we watched our UT teams lack for the past 4 or so years).

This is a better hire, to me, than what either Arkansas or Auburn just got.

Truth be told, I have thought Strong was a scary good coach since his time as D-Coordinator for South Carolina and Florida.

I'm sure four and five stars are just salivating at the thought of going to Louisville.

We are down but we are still Tennessee and we are in the SEC.

It's a lot easier to sell Tennessee than it is to sell Louisville. He's overachieved there. He would most likely do the same here. Smile. At least we won't have Dooley next year.

Things are looking up.
