Hmmmmm really winning the big east with 2 loses is really that impressive for you?? This upcoming season is going to be tough and the team is in a way better position than when dooley got here so hope people that were so hard the last few yrs are just as hard on whom ever the coach is. I'm not giving as much leeway as others no seem to be willing to give.

I'm not celebrating until I see a presser and hear Strong announce himself. Way to many confirmations in the past that were flops.

Gators won't be happy when Vols hire Charlie Strong. He has 33 Florida players on his Louisville roster. And that's without an SEC logo.

It all comes down to recruiting. I think Strong CAN recruit. If this is true then this may be what we need.

Here's my 2 cents on Strong. He is better than Dooley (no brainer). Strong has a better resume than Stoops had when hired by Okla. Strong has a better resume than Muschamp at Florida (Muschamp had NO HC experience when hired last year). Strong has recruiting ties all over the south and recently the midwest since he's been at Louisville. Tenn. has to recruit BOTH the south and the Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania areas of the country. Strong will be able to go in both directions and get players. He coached under Lou Holtz and Urban Meyer and Steve Spurrier. That's 3 national champ. head coaches. He's been on Spurrier's SEC champ staff. He's been on Urban's two national champ staffs. He won a conference championship as a head coach. If it dont work then it dont and you fire him and try again but you CANT say he's not a good hire and worth the risk.

Just so we're clear, if Gruden, Fisher, Stoops, Patterson, et al are out of the picture, are there really any "home runs" left? No. So that immediately becomes a non-issue because those guys aren't coming.

Strong knows defense. Strong knows the SEC (20 years in it). Strong knows how to turn around a program. You say the Big East is weak, and I agree yet -- was he using Alabama's players at Louisville?? No. He was using Big East players in the Big East.

Watch what happens when he gets SEC players at Tennessee.

I like Strong for the simple fact if he can get Tennessee's Defense close to what he did at Florida we'll win 9+ games a year.

....there is going to be such a rush to buy season tickets with a top name coach coming on we won't be able to find a ticket anywhere. Four and five star players will stampede to UT just at the mention of his name.

Nope. If its who they are hinting at we have been taken again. We have put the job off on someone that will take it other than going out and taking a big name.Time to revolt. I'm done if this is so.
