It's Done - Strong will be announced [unconfirmed]

Good for you when UF runs the streak to 10+

tennessee has won 2 sec games in the last 2 seasons.

no coach is going to jump into this situation and start winning big.

dooley left tennessee as he found it......a couple of recruiting classes away from making big games a fair fight

If we did not hire Gruden because of money issues, and then end up hiring Strong at $3.7 million/year, I'm going to really question the sanity of the UTAD powers that be.

what a freaking joke, there's no way in hell we'd pay that much for an un-proven coach... L-ville will never be the SEC . Strong isn't worth that . Paterson, Gundy, Tressel maybe ....but Strong lol.

Dooley left Tennessee a couple recruiting classes from Colorado.

TRUE STORY:

My kid just left the football building and says: "Im so fricken tired."

I guess weight training was a little intense today.

ALSO A TRUE STORY: If yall get cStrong, that is a great hire. The dude will put you right back in the mix for the SEC-East, which of course means you are right back in the mix for the Nat. Championship.

NOT SURE IF REPORT IS TRUE, but this is all I have to work with.

My guy at UT says it's a done deal, will be announced Wednesday. Expects it to be around $3.75 mil a year.

I personally don't agree with this hire. Not impressed with what he's done at Louisville in a weak Big East. Others will disagree, say he's a great recruiter. I'm not sold.

But I do know it's a step up from Dooley.

I love how you throw a high % guess out as fact. Fishing for ecred IMO.

if strong is the guy, tennessee getting where they need to be won't happen overnight.

but, he will make steady progress each year until they do get there, which is what dooley was supposed to do

and i do believe they will get there

and swain also said if we get strong some big time recruits will commit, dont know who, i would like to know though.

Not saying I believe...however of all the candidates I've been hearing about lately (Strong, Golden, Fisher, Franklin) he would be my first choice. He was a DC at Florida and also worked at USCe...so he knows the SEC and knows how to recruit in the SEC.

Personally if not Gruden or Tressel (I know all the baggage but a good hire nonetheless) than I was totally support Strong "IF" this is in fact true. Time will tell.

As far as coaches go. Gruden is gone. Then Peterson, Paterson, Patrino, Tressel, Davis, then Strong. So he is what I expected, a replacement hire because Hart didn't want to spend the real money to play football in the SEC!

lateral move IMO. What a waste of money. We will just be looking for a new coach in 3 years again if true.

I believe that to be very true...why would they?

Evidently Hart has truly gone Rogue and doing what he wants just to rub it in boosters noses. I do think the BOT would never approve it unless no one else would take it as in Dooley again.
