It's Done - Strong will be announced [unconfirmed]

My guy at UT says it's a done deal, will be announced Wednesday. Expects it to be around $3.75 mil a year.

I personally don't agree with this hire. Not impressed with what he's done at Louisville in a weak Big East. Others will disagree, say he's a great recruiter. I'm not sold.

But I do know it's a step up from Dooley.

**** your guy!

With our programs history, billionare boosters, peyton manning and the top football facilities in the country.......and we come up with charlie freakin strong. Another coach-in-training with almost no HC exp and from a weak conf at that.
This is such a critical hire for us. It will decide our position in the SEC pecking order for years to come. Its hard to believe that the powers that be could come to this conclusion.
Prob another result of us not really pursuing the big names or being unwilling to pay the salary demanded by top coaches. So we get another overpaid underqualified hopeful.

This is one of the first "hear it from a friend threads" that I believe has a good chance of being true. If true, I wonder if he keeps Chaney.

Calm down...calm down...at least we can hold out hope that a new Kentucky win streak is well on its way to fruition...

TRUE STORY:

My kid just left the football building and says: "Im so fricken tired."

I guess weight training was a little intense today.

ALSO A TRUE STORY: If yall get cStrong, that is a great hire. The dude will put you right back in the mix for the SEC-East, which of course means you are right back in the mix for the Nat. Championship.

NOT SURE IF REPORT IS TRUE, but this is all I have to work with.

You cant tell some of these idiots anything. They know everything and should be making the hire.

I wanted Gruden too. Strong didn't initially move my needle, but I did some quick research.

He took over at Lousiville after a 4-8 season and a disaster from the previous coach. He went 7-6 in each of his first two seasons and then 10-2 this season. It might be in the Big East, but he still showed he can rebuild a program.

He is a former defensive coordinator, which i like. If he is named the coach, I am all in (and will be whoever is named).

I will be surprised if we agreed to $3.75 million. Seems high.

agreed he surly wont let us finish with the worst D n UT histroy & as we know Defense Wins Championships. I think we are going from a F- coach to a soilid B coach with our faucilites & Stadium to sell recruits hes going to Roll in 4 & 5 * recruits just wait
