anyone can score 54 points if all they do is run around illegal screens. there won't be any chemistry at all in KY this season.

Kentucky's gonna be strong but I like our chances. CBP beat Cal with an NBA memphis lineup vs TN's NBA tryouts lineup. no need to be scared.

Don't expect us to be that great next year. We had NO team chemistry last year, just a bunch of undisciplined buffoons taking bad shots.

Great post and the stats against SEC are a strong statement. I know that many on here love to bash Pearl. Honestly I don't know the things that many on here bring to the table about Pearl...and why they dislike him so much. But he has made UT fun to watch again.....national TV....did we get that before Pearl? No. Schedules against national teams....something else he has brought to the table. That is another reason we got an invite to the tournament last year. Seriously, a 7-1 record against Florida....even when they won the national championship? Awesome I think. I want to get past the sweet 16 also. But before Pearl we never had many chances to get to the Big Dance. Again, I know several on here question alot about our Coach....and I don't have the inside info or scoop that a few seem to have...but I am so much happier with UT basketball now that before Pearl. The stats that were mentioned before are a big reason for that. Seeing UT on national TV for a change is a very welcome change.

I agree with all of those who support Bruce!!!!!!! Bruce has raised all the fans expectations. We are talking about a down year when UT won the SEC East and 21 games. UT beat USC on the court. Therefore, UT should have been outright SEC East Champs!!!

I love his enthusiasm. I love the fact that he bought Tshirts for the students. Ticket sales have gone through the roof. Bruce has put a lot of life into what once was a flat program!!! UT has went to the NCAATournament all four years under Pearl !!!!!!! Yet, several want to bash Bruce. Anyone hating on Bruce is definitely ignorant, including Hat!!!

My only problems with Bruce are:

1) Maybe he conditions the team a little too hard during the regular season. They seem to be out of gas at the end of the year during the SEC and NCAA Tournamet. Regardless of the reason, the team must perform better in the post season!!!

2) Bruce needs to have a better record against UK!!!

3) I feel Bruce should recruit Gs that can shoot lights out consistently and a C like Joakim Noah who runs the floor to fit Bruce's style.

Bruce has owned the SEC East with the exception of UK. Donovan has had more talent at UF than Bruce at UT Bruce's entire career at UT. What is Bruce's record versus UF? It is 7-1, including 3-1 the years the Gators won two National Titles.

What has Bruce done at UT? He has lead UT to 3 East Div Titles, 1 East Div 2nd place, with 1 outright SEC Title in 4 years. Bruce is arguably our best basketball HC ever. Ray's teams won 71.3% of the games at UT, 70.5% in SEC.. Bruce's teams have played a tougher out of conference schedule and won 72.6% of the games, 71.9% in SEC. So, you guys need to layoff of Bruce!!! Bruce has done a great job at UT thus far!!!

..the idea of these people is that he will build even stronger teams at the MECCA UK[/B].

I suspect you can count on it! I live in Kentucky and want Kentucky to win every ball game except when they play Tennessee and Western Kentucky.

UK can and likely will be the SEC Team to beat for the next few years. That powerful position will last just through the year before the NCAA comes calling on yet another Coach C school.

How can you guys consider Coach Cal a God amongst boys, yet Kiffin is ready to challenge Meyer and Saban?

. I know that many on here love to bash Pearl.

I know that many of the people on this board love to bash anything, everything and everybody involved in, associated with or supporting the athletic program at The Big Orange on Rocky Top.

It is an insidiously fulminating and festering disease and they can't help it. We just have to show pity and overlook them until they find a cure.

I see no intelligent people bashing Lane Kiffin.

Yeah, we should have all sat by quietly while the slobbering, homeristic imbeciles kept telling us Fulmer was about to turn things around.

Pearl has this program about as high as it can be. The fact is, Kentucky could pay twice as much money for coach as we could and provides much more tradition. They have championship banners while we hang NIT banners (which is pathetic and I wish they would be took down). Yet, we can still stay competitive with them because of the style and energy Pearl brings. No, our offensive style probably wont bring us a championship, but in the world of college hoops, that's probably too much to ask for from us. If it wasn't for Pearl's style and antics, we wouldn't be attracting the talent we are. I am very happy with Pearl and feel confident that we couldn't attract anybody that could do better with Tennessee basketball.

When did mediocrity become okay, and something people should be "cool" with?

When you live in Knoxville and try to attract talent or coaches for that matter with limited funds in respect to powerhouses. And I wouldn't call this mediocrity. I might be biased though. My last four years of college included two losing football seasons and four straight losses to Florida. Basketball was my only salvation.

And no, we can't pay as much as Kentucky could.

Tennessee has the funding and resources to attract top talent. We need a coach who is able to, though. There's a big difference between Mike Krzyzewski or Bill Self recruiting you and Bruce Pearl. It's called professionalism. I think Pearl comes off as a bit of a gimmick.

I guess in respect to everyone as a whole we pay him pretty well, but that wouldn't be the case if it was somebody other than Pearl with the way he's excited this fan base. I think we gave Pearl a raise that will average to $2.4 mil over the next 6 years (starting lower than $2mil next year), while Cal is set to get around $4 mil. I could be off in all this, bonuses are hard to keep up with. Bama's Grant got $2 mil and Georgia was willing to offer $2 mil for their next coach, but gave Fox $1.3mil. Memphis was ready to offer Pearl more than $3 mil.

EDIT: And I don't think we could attract elite talent to Knoxville. I don't see many reasons why a kid would come here over any elite program except for Pearl's fast paced style which kids love to play in, but is also the reason why we might not ever go to a final four. And Donovan makes $3.5Mil.

What do u know about any of it. You consistently refer to intelligence in your post. We are all to assume that you have the highest IQ on the board. My post pointed out several areas where our B-ball program has improved dramatically since Pearl has come on board.
Anybody who uses a picture of a hot girl for their avatar deserves little respect. Couple that with the tone of all of your posts and u come of as a nerdy, little, zit faced kid that needs to get laid. Get a life dude
