Milton was 20/26 before the pick. That included at least 4 dropped balls. He played really well before the pick. After the pick he reverted to bazooka Joe and looked more like Randy Johnson than Hendon Hooker. There was so much craziness in this game, I don't see where you can pin this on Joe. The defense was terrible.Milton is a cancer too. Just slowly eating up the offense while acting a fool on the field
Stop telling us Miltons passing yards. That is not the main measure of an effective QB. Tell me how many touchdowns he lead the team to. The answer is ONE ! One TD with all those "yards". That looks and is exactly like the old JG stats we used to see. Decent yardage and ONE td. This team cannot get better until the QB improves greatly. Hooker has shown that. Hopefully they will let Nico start the rest of the way. There's no need to run from Georgia this year because next year it doesn't get any easier.Milton was 22-34 267 yards 1 td 1 int. Lead the team with 36 yards rushing.
Missouri out rushes us 255 to 83 with a d-2 running back, the idiots blame Milton.
Elijah Herring may be the slowest linebacker to play at Tennessee since the 1980s, the idiots blame Milton.
Our defensive coordinator cannot make halftime adjustments to keep a 5-8 d-2 running back from running it right down our throats, the idiots blame Milton.
Jalen Wright fumbles away sure points before the half then proceeds to try to take himself out after every play seemingly because he’s trying to not get hurt and get ready for the nfl draft, the idiots blame Milton.
Ramel Keyton has a signature drive killing drop that costs us a 1st down, the idiots blame Milton.
Dylan Sampson has his arm above is head on an rpo exchange causes fumble, the idiots blame Milton.
We have the slowest defensive backs in the sec (besides maybe vandy) the idiots blame Milton.
Contrary to vol nation belief a quarterback change won’t change any of the above. This team has a lot of problems that has nothing to do with the quarterback.
Yes yes he does. He does it by being in the field with the offense longer than it takes the D to trot off the field and find a seat with the D coaches before they are told to suit back up. The D definitely had its issues but I wager a bunch that if the offense was even remotely serviceable and put up a few points gave the D time to regroup and rest the outcome from a D perspective and performance would have been vastly different. This has been the theme all year when facing teams that have a pulse. You also count discount the emotional drain the offense has on the whole team. Watching that keystone cops show of comedic errors and one good two bad plays series after series has the whole team saying the same crap we are sitting here saying. It stifles their MOJO badly. So yes Nico in the game doing anything football like to sustain drives and score points certainly keeps all of the issues that plagued the Vols again to a minimum.Does Nico stop Shrader from gaining 300 yards?
Absolutely agree this offense coordinator or combination of heupel and OC ain’t working. If they have made themselves believe they are gonna live off screens and runs up the middle “to give themselves a chance”. That philosophy has done little more than the famous third down or prevent D under chavis. Watching it only “prevent”. The victory. Just go for it it can’t be any worse.I think we miss Golesh. Joe is not HH. Never was going to be. I would expect some coaching changes
I agree. The defense is no better than last year. The difference is this year we have a very mediocre offense with Milton. We won a lot last year and had some track meet wins because we had a competent QB.Yes yes he does. Joe had two TD passes. One for us and one for them. Bad QB play is hurting this team more than defense. Heupel will not have a championship type, shut down defense. He has shown he can coach a championship offense and hope to get just a couple of stops from the defense to win the game.Reread every other part of the post except the one about yards…
