Its officially Nico Time

If you think 7-6 vs 9-4 matters in recruiting when the main change in the final 3 games of the season is you’re turning the offense over to the future, you don’t understand this new landscape. If we go 0-3 to end the season and Nico is passing Milton’s averages on the season, that means the weakness is the defense…. That’s gonna hurt the offensive recruiting. Sure as hell won’t hurt the defensive recruiting either.

Heupel is very likable and I believe one of the better players’ coaches in the country. But to think the remaining games are meaningful TO THE PROGRAM’s FUTURE in any way with Milton starting over Nico, you’re mistaken.

We are likely to finish 9-4 regardless who is starting at QB. Getting Nico on film and experience makes that 9-4 better than going 2-1 in the final 3 games so Milton can finish the year.

And you just prove how soft your mentality is if you think Nico starting is somehow risking a loss to Vandy just by the mere mentioning of a 7-6 record. Either the kid is Bambi or he’s a gamer. It would be the first time Milton has been a weaker performer than the guy sitting behind him on the depth chart.
So wait...Nico goes 5/9 vs uconn mop up 2nd and 3rd string players..and you think he is suddenly gonna perform at an Sec level..vandy or not.. I love you calling my mentality soft when you given up in a season with 3 games left....talk about soft..may know my 11 year old gives up to when thing dont go thier way...throw a tantrum and cry and tou damn near the same level emotionally as a child...and yes a 0-3 season end with a loss to Vandy sure AF will effect recruiting...if you struggle with that then you dont understand recruiting or football...and loss or poor performance against Vandy will hurt way more..

Cite source of “rumors” or take troll act somewhere else more successful.
It was already reported by one of the local radio guys earlier this season.

Outside of his health being a concern, which I’m amazed everyone is treating him as a walking newborn calf, getting him exposed to a top tier defense and having that film study on him going into the offseason is a reward that far outweighs the risk….

The road schedule next year isn’t gonna be any better for him. And i surely hope that people aren’t thinking that likes of NC state, Chattanooga, Kent State, and UTEP are some games that will get him ready for a slate of Florida, Georgia, Bama, and Oklahoma.
When it comes to injuries, the last 2 years have been absolutely devastating for this program. We've lost almost every guy we couldn't afford to lose over the last 2 seasons. Any UT fan would be gun shy. As for next years schedule, it's just ridiculous. That stretch between UTEP and UK is obscene. Bowl eligibility is a question in my mind.

Bro these guys are hilarious. I imagine some posters on here would make hella money streaming their reactions to Vols losses.
Didn't even bother watching, because I knew it was going to be a loss. I have had zero confidence in Milton ever being able to rise to the occasion.

Milton is a cancer too. Just slowly eating up the offense while acting a fool on the field
completed 67% of his passes for 267 yds. Would have been much better if the defense could have gotten him the ball more often. Look elsewhere.

What is there to play for in the 2023 season that is of note?

We are eliminated from the East
We are eliminated from a NY6 game with a likely 12-0 UGA, 11-1 Bama, and 10-2 Ole Miss

We DO have a win streak at Neyland as the only thing of significance we have going for us.

To sit here and say that there is still something left to play for of value is simply not true. Heupel has a chance to get a 3 game / 8 week head start on the 2024 campaign.

And yes you’re soft. You are saying Georgia is a loss no matter what so in that case, it shouldn’t matter who starts at QB.

This is not controversial. The future of the program matters more than loyalty to 1 player. Especially when the season is pretty much Solidified. We made a bowl but aren’t playing for the division or a NY6 game… there is no difference in playing in the Music City Bowl or Name your Koolaid flavor Florida Bowl

If it wasn’t so entertaining, I would take it as an insult to the overall intelligence of this board. There are some smart actors on here…and I don’t consider myself one of them. If there was any hint from a “reporter” that Nico was looking to exit, there would’ve been at least one THREAD…more likely multiple. #WeakSauce

Problem I had with the 33% of his missed were WRs with space that were game extending drives and those 33% were his typical inaccuracy of high/low/behind/way out front.

Hit a few of those and we extend drives and keep D on sidelines.
Good grief. Why don't you indict the O-Line for opening up somewhere around zero holes for our running game? Or the D-Line for putting zero pressure on a QB that we KNEW was going to run the ball?

I bet Nico will be at Oregon by January
If he is.. or anywhere else for that matter, I will laugh my ass off at all of you that donated to Spyre to bring him here. It would be yet another example of how dumb we are as a fan base. Throw money at it until it either gets better or (more likely) goes somewhere else. It would be funny were it not pathetic.

Said it before, but guys like Nico are mercs for hire.

That’s the thing. Players are now professionals in the NIL era. This expectation they should wait their time while making crap tons of money is a thing of the past. We should know exactly what we have in Nico and that’s why he should get all the snaps for the final 3 games…. If he is too fragile as many folks are saying he is, he shouldn’t be getting all that money.

I hate to agree with this but it’s true. Season is over. Time to get the freshman some reps. Milton didn’t perform.
Time to get the best players on the field and start getting experience for next year. Missouri proved you don't have to substitute as much as you think. Players have to be physically and mentally tough the entire game.

They paid him all season to just sit on the bench to watch / observed bad QB play.

Your playing for recruits...wins equal better recruiting....the kids dont GAF about the 7 wins before. Most won't even know who we beat....but a possible loss to a playoff teams (which looks better if we play them close) and 2 wins to close out the season is what they will remeber... and again if I'm soft for assuming we will lose to a playoff NC contender then what are you for possibly sacrificing 3 straight losses for 1 player...your logic is that of someone with nothing but video game experience....as for GA..I think we come out and play inspired...Mizzou was a complete trap game, and while they are a good team, we didn't take them seriously and were looking to GA...I think we give GA a hell of a game...I think we can even win it...but we need to stop with the penalties l, and dumb mistakes...Joe needs to be decisive and react instead of thinking to much...wright need to bounce back and hold the ball...the receivers need to continue improving and the Oline needs the man up after the whooping MO put on them...

They paid him all season to just sit on the bench to watch / observed bad QB play.
And risking paying him just as much to flop next year is too risky then letting him get some much valuable experience in the final 3 games this year since the season is basically over in regards to Atlanta and NY6

It’s not gonna happen so stop making threads about it.
Gonna happen? If it does it happened too late . Those that think he’s too small are nuts . If he turns out to be what we hope we are only getting him for 2 years play the man let’s see what we have let’s look to the future

Milton was 22-34 267 yards 1 td 1 int. Lead the team with 36 yards rushing.

Missouri out rushes us 255 to 83 with a d-2 running back, the idiots blame Milton.

Elijah Herring may be the slowest linebacker to play at Tennessee since the 1980s, the idiots blame Milton.

Our defensive coordinator cannot make halftime adjustments to keep a 5-8 d-2 running back from running it right down our throats, the idiots blame Milton.

Jalen Wright fumbles away sure points before the half then proceeds to try to take himself out after every play seemingly because he’s trying to not get hurt and get ready for the nfl draft, the idiots blame Milton.

Ramel Keyton has a signature drive killing drop that costs us a 1st down, the idiots blame Milton.

Dylan Sampson has his arm above is head on an rpo exchange causes fumble, the idiots blame Milton.

We have the slowest defensive backs in the sec (besides maybe vandy) the idiots blame Milton.

Contrary to vol nation belief a quarterback change won’t change any of the above. This team has a lot of problems that has nothing to do with the quarterback.
