24 then 24 plus a week then 24 plus 2 months then 24 plus a year then we will be right back to this same situation waiting for Gruden to make his announcement tomorrow night on MNF, only to hear he loves his job as a commentator
Before the last two coaching hires, this forum speculated on more superstar coaches than is really possible. We ended up with Kiffin and Dooley. I won't believe it until a top notch coach is officially announced. Any other coaching change is a waste of time.
DeerPark & BabyVol on TOS have stated this morning that Dooley is out. Gruden has been given 3 options/contracts to consider from UT. They are not saying Gruden will be hired, but Dooley will not coach Tennessee in 2013.
If you follow any of these boards, those 2 guys are a couple of the best at being reliable. Better days ahead.
Why would Gruden leave his current job, where he earns 4.3 Million a year, while working maybe 4 months a year. To take a Job that requires busting your ass everyday of the year for 5 Million a year? I for one would love to have Gruden as our Coach. But using logic tells me he would be a Idiot to leave the job he has now. Face it guys if DD is fired. We will hire another scrub. I have no faith in UT's AD.
This is not a good thing, if it is true.
(1) The team will likely give up on him and lose a game we are not supposed to lose, thus preventing us from being bowl eligible again.
(2) The recruits we do have committed, will look elsewhere. The next four weeks, Dooley will be a dead man walking.
(3) If it is Strong, he won't take over until after Louisville's bowl game.
(4) If it is Gruden, he likely won't take over until after the MNF season is over.
(5) The recruits we have now will jump ship, between now and the time the new coach is on campus.
