Are you sure he was offered? Rumors were he was called to see if he was interested from a big time donor. When Gruden said 5.5 million, the donor hung up the phone. They may have offered 5, but I doubt 500 grand would have forced us to Derek Dooley at 2 million. JMO

Is Dooley really going to be let go tomorrow or not? I'm tired of hearing all this he says she says bs. If anyone truly knows, please put it out there.

I am hearing rumors that speak of a certain coach that has a definitive chance of being fired in the indeterminate future. But then again I am also hearing rumors this coach may be given an indefinite amount of extra time to be allowed to coach the team in the future. Tifwiw. This is IMHO.

No they are giving him one more year. He is putting everything in place next year will be a great year.

Word on the street is that Peyton Manning's maid overheard him talking to Phillip Fulmer and she heard them say that Johnny Majors will be hired tomorrow to, once again, come back and get this thing turned around.

Fulmer is pissed.

I just heard on a radio talk show, that it was posted on the Internet, that a MAJOR booster just said that Dooley was just given a 5 year extention to finish the job he started. Maybe now you all can go get a life and not worry about it anymore.

The Tennessee charley browns ... good grief.

Makes sense giving an extension to someone who is 0-22 vs ranked teams and has started 0-5 in the SEC his first 3 years

doesn't really matter...if donor hung up the phone at 5 mil.....do you think they will offer him 6-7-8 mil.....i don't think so....if he is already making 4.5 mil from ESPN it is gonna take probably 8 to get him here...might as well get Gruden out of your mind...won't happen

I doubt it does happen. I am on record saying I will take ANY proven coach. I will say if a guy makes 4.3 million and wants to coach again, 5.5 million is a huge pay raise. 3 years ago, donors may not have been ready to pay a coach more money than anyone else in college football to come to Tennessee. Who knows how they feel now.
