Pro-style offenses generally don't work in college football. That is my ONLY concern with Gruden. I think that can be overcome, though. I'd still love the hire.:dance2:
Pete Carroll says, "was'sup with that noise?" :loco: We've been running a Pro Style offense since Majors was here.

Friends don't let friends toke and type.

This has been the scheduled departure for at least the last week an a half. It's going to happen--Dooley has been done for weeks.

I still believe it will be made official Sunday and Gruden will make a public comment about accepting the position on MNF.

Official Gruden introduction on Tuesday or Wednesday. Hinshaw will be named interim for the rest of the season.

WOW!!!! Thanks just what the Doc ordered imo best info so far is it a given he will announce on mnf or is it just a rumor that would be huge announcement

I think that Dooley needs to go but will blame Hart if he doesn't pull the trigger soon. On another note, Gruden has not publicly denied the interest or squashed the rumor, so the fact he is quiet leads me to believe he is indeed very interested

They said that Gruden was interested in the Tennessee job before. Just the money was way apart. I think Hart will give Gruden alot of money. He seen what paying a good coach at Alabama did. Gruden can keep his ESPN job until the end of the NFL season. Put his coaching staff together and have them start recruiting when the recruiting begins. You know Gruden has a coaching staff already in mind if he is interested in Tennessee. They tell the kids to watch Monday Night Football to see their head coach. Gruden comes in during the week to see the kids and BOOM. We would have to turn kids away. I believe Graham, and O-line coach would stay. And since you have to pay Sal put him as LBs coach.

gruden will want saban / miles type money $4-$5 million, plus a boatload of perqs and benefits.

This is not a good thing, if it is true.

(1) The team will likely give up on him and lose a game we are not supposed to lose, thus preventing us from being bowl eligible again.

(2) The recruits we do have committed, will look elsewhere. The next four weeks, Dooley will be a dead man walking.

(3) If it is Strong, he won't take over until after Louisville's bowl game.

(4) If it is Gruden, he likely won't take over until after the MNF season is over.

(5) The recruits we have now will jump ship, between now and the time the new coach is on campus.

Incorrect sir...The team has already gave up on him...Strong is not leaving Louisville and that AD has made it clear he will match ANY offer to him....Gruden will not wait until the end if he takes the job....Most of the recruits Dooley has now will stay put and if Gruden takes the job recruiting explodes....You guys always have the gloom and doom outlook....You forgot how good recruiting got when kiffin took over even for a year and don't give me that where are they now crap he pulled in some talent on that class so its not always a big transition if you hire the right guy.

The only proven coach who would risk taking the UT job is Phil Fulmer.

Them's the facts. We'll get a scrub, or Phil.

Let's NOT hire an assistant coach, if this goes down, especially one from bama. We should hire omebody like Kelly, whom ND hired from Cincy and was a winner. That's the ideal. Hiring an assistant is nothing but another crapshoot--little name recognition, no head-coaching experience. Big risk.

1. The team would have to lose more than one game to prevent a bowl game... I like our chances either way.

2. Somehow I don't think the recruits of an 0-seemingly forever against ranked teams coach will run away from a good solid coach that can possibly get them to actually WIN a game or two.

3. Yeah because the Bowl game for Louisville is remotely as important as getting into your UT gig... Please tell me you are real high.

4. I am sure that Gruden could either leave MNF or work something out. 85% of Gruden is better than 100% of Dooley, Sal, and any other UT coach.

5. You already incorrectly whined about this. It is in point #2 of your and my posts.

Please get any real facts and post again soon.

You're crazy if you believe this. Louisville is undefeated with games against Temple, Cuse, UCONN, and Rutgers. They'll probably be in a BSC or top-tier bowl game. No way he leaves his team in the middle of that.

If its Gruden our recruiting will improve. I don't think people understand, you can take it to the bank. Kids will want to play for a superbowl winning coach who is constantly on ESPN in their living rooms and touted as a football expert.

you got to be kidding!! kids today were just babys or not even born when Gruden won his only super bowl.
they don't know diddy squat about Gruden.
