OK we all know this season has not been what any of us wanted. But we still have a shot at a bowl and I for one am sick of all the negative talk. I think we need to keep that in mind and start a positive trend here and see where it goes.

So I say GO BIG ORANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come on VOL fans jump on board with me and lets root our boys to a bowl game and a bowl win! :superman:

There you go BRO.

We may not like how the season is turning out but we can root for a strong finish. I'll take a strong finish over a bad finish any day.

I'm not sure that discussing obvious problems equates to being negative. We still have a tremendous program with exceptional facilities and a loyal fan base. We would be discussing positive happenings if there were any to speak about.

Cant do it either. I find it very hard to get excited about lackluster performance and ugly football.

Who's not rooting for wins in the final two games? Expecting the fans to show more enthusiasm than the players and coaches is a bit much.

You're right. The smell of sheep's wool is getting a tad strong around here.

:victory: I will be pulling hard for the vols to win the last two games. I hope that we do go to a bowl game.

We need to finish strong and maybe it will help the team for next year.

I'm with you VolBeef88. I still get excited every gameday. It's the only day of the week that I voluntarily get up early in the morning. Drives my wife crazy. Every gameday to me is like Christmas morning is for a 5-year old.

I still hold out hope that the Vols offense will explode. There have already been signs of improvement... especially in the running game. In my opinion, the "decline" that keeps getting discussed on this board is in direct relationship to the decline in the running game since 2002. I also think that has a direct relationship to the talent at that position. Cedric Houston, Jabari Davis, Tinsley, and Riggs never lived up to their hype. Its happened before with a few highly recruited running backs, but 4-of-4?

Rick Clausen has faced Vanderbilt and Kentucky before. He was 19-of-30 for 189 yards and 2 TDs against Vandy as the Vols racked up 425 yards of offense and scored 38 points. And he was 26-of-41 for 349 yards and 2 TDs against Kentucky as the Vols rung up a season high 606 yards of total offense (highest since 1997) and scored 37 points. The Vols rushed for over 200+ yards in both contests.

If the new Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach is hired for the bowl preparations as Fulmer has indicated, I think the Vols will do very well in the bowl game too.

It would be exciting if we blew Vanderbilt and Kentucky out with Foster rushing for 250 yards in both games. Just hand the ball off to Foster every single play and beat Vandy 34-0 and then beat Kentucky 55-3. Then in a bowl game, hopefully against a school with alot of tradition like Nebraska or Oklahoma, maybe Iowa, we can hand the ball off to Foster the first 19 plays of the game, and then "BAM!!", throw a post pattern over the safety. Nebraska did it on us in the Orange Bowl. They had the most vanilla passing game in the country, but as long as they were running for 250 yards, those passes were $$ in the bank.

Foster finishes the last 3 games with 647 yards, we get a great QB coach for next year, and we'll have a running AND passing game in 06.

Volbeef88, I like this Foster kid. Sometimes he gets no yardage. Sometimes he makes a 10 , 25, or even 40 (ND) yard run. Sometimes he makes nothing into a little something. By the end of a game I'm thinking, "Wow, he ran for over 125 yards." You know, the kind of yardage that creeps up and goes unnoticed? Maybe when Hardesty gets healthy, and Coker gets ready, with some good coaching, we could have another trio similar to Stewart, Hayden and Garner.

Alot of people don't realize that recruiting classes make their impact a couple of years into their careers. So if we get the right coaches, we could go back to being the real "Tennessee." And future recruits will say, "Ah, that was just a bad year for Tennessee. They have these great new coaches now. I want to run through that T."

Of course, that's my dream.

It would be nice to have our new OC in place to coach the bowl game. I think we would travel well for that game if they bring him on board in time. Fans would fill the place just to see what the new OC would bring.

Our new OC won't be coaching in the bowl game.

I went to summer school once at Vandy. There were no students from the South and there were no pretty girls at that school!!!

The pretty girls are there in the spring and fall. They go home in the summer.

Seriously, go anywhere in Hillsboro Village or even Music Row, and you will see some hot Vandy girls. Now, if you wear a camoflauged baseball cap with a big orange "T" on it, you might not get to sit down with them. :geek:
