i want whatever the beef man is smoking,  he's pumped.  i don't agree with you,  but i like your attitude.  i used to feel that way like 5 years ago.

I don't smoke anything. But I know a bad year comes sometimes in sports. I accept that and don't want to burn the stadium just because of it. Also I watched bammers do this and I told them and myself that VOL fans are better than that. We can see beyond a year or even two. But some on here have me questioning.
But not me. Until CPF shows that he can't win I will back him and I know he has earned our respect for more time.

I don't understand why we can't be upset. I'm a real UT fan. I don't see how you WOULDN'T be upset if you were a real UT fan. Fulmer gets $2 million/year to put that "alleged" #3 preseason talent that we have on the field to get us to the SEC CG and Rose Bowl, not the Music City Bowl. Damn right I'm upset!! But I still love my Vols and hope that whoever our QB is for the rest of the year will hand the ball off to Foster every single snap and let him get 500 yards in our last 2 games.

Jumping ship doesn't have anything to do with upset fans.

People who "jump ship" and join another bandwagon could care less of how a team does. People who jump ship don't get upset.

i've stated before he lost my respect after his last contract when he hired an agent. he didn't deserve a pay raise to begin with. i give him one more year when he finishes 6-5 next year they will send him packing and then i will have reason to be optomistic again. no matter how hard i try i cannot be optomistic about this team untill they give me areason.

Hell man I am very disapointed in the season. But I am not going to call for CPF to be fired and act like he has not done anyting as a HC. No. But when some on here say the season is over and it is BB time I will call it the way I see it.
Chill out and realize this is an off year. I know CPF will have the ship righted next year. And yes I do hope we win out and go to a bowl. Some on here have stated they hope we DON"T go to a bowl. That sux!

He sure did and so did most people. Apparently you did too or you would not be disapointed in the season.

i'll root for the vols always volbeef88, i just can't be as optomistic as you. i hope fulmer proves me wrong and wins the SEC. i just don't see it happening, he's not that good he has proven that over the last 5 years. we have alot of major problems on offense and i just don't see CUT coming in and making a major impact. i hope i'm wrong.

I am chilled out and realize this is an off year. And I never called for CFP's head, either. I'm just calling for EA, RC, JRS, RS, PW, CH, JS, RM, RG, DL, AS, CB, CA, and the special team's players heads. :D

I am a true Vol fan, or I would not be here. Believe me, it would be easier if I did not care so I could go root for Texas or USC. But I do care, there just is not much to be optimistic about right now.

It is not hard for me to be optimistic about the VOLS. Watching the team on the VOL walk, then turning around and going to the other end to meet the band. Watching all the fans from 6yrs to 80 decked out in BIG ORANGE. Then finishing off the final drink and food, closing up and heading in. The first glimpse of the field and hitting your seat. High fiving all the fans around you (you don't want to sit by me if you arent ready to stand and holler) then the band takig the field. Then the forming of the T. The team running in and the place going nuts. Of course the "pay these prices and please pay no more". I love'm and get excited about next weeks game on Sunday. It is hard for me to see how you can't get excited. I understand being disapointed but hell I know the players and staff are more than even we are.
But I know there are diff strokes for diff folks. I guess when it comes to my VOLS I am a glass is half full kinda guy.

I consider what I am doing staying within reason.

Using emotion would be me saying everything is great and UT is #1 no matter what happens

Being positive and hoping to finish the season strong is a voice of reason. Being negative is more of an emotional rant.

Not if the rational view is that we won't finish the season strong, which we really haven't shown any signs of doing

Giving up is not rational in my opinion. I think we will win out and win the bowl game. That would be a strong finish.

I guess that is just the competitor in me.

I'm with you VolBeef88.  I still get excited every gameday.  It's the only day of the week that I voluntarily get up early in the morning.  Drives my wife crazy.  Every gameday to me is like Christmas morning is for a 5-year old.

I still hold out hope that the Vols offense will explode.  There have already been signs of improvement... especially in the running game.  In my opinion, the "decline" that keeps getting discussed on this board is in direct relationship to the decline in the running game since 2002.  I also think that has a direct relationship to the talent at that position.  Cedric Houston, Jabari Davis, Tinsley, and Riggs never lived up to their hype.  Its happened before with a few highly recruited running backs, but 4-of-4?

Rick Clausen has faced Vanderbilt and Kentucky before.  He was 19-of-30 for 189 yards and 2 TDs against Vandy as the Vols racked up 425 yards of offense and scored 38 points.  And he was 26-of-41 for 349 yards and 2 TDs against Kentucky as the Vols rung up a season high 606 yards of total offense (highest since 1997) and scored 37 points.  The Vols rushed for over 200+ yards in both contests.

If the new Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach is hired for the bowl preparations as Fulmer has indicated, I think the Vols will do very well in the bowl game too.

I, for one, am sick of all these people saying "we're gonna lose to vandy..they're gonna destroy us" "i hope we don't go to a bowl" blah blah blah

Vandy is going to destroy us..based on what? going 4-0, then LOSING 6 in a row? After letting kentucky put up 48 on them?

If KY can put up 48 on vandy, we can too. And we sure as hell won't allow 40+ from Cutler. The guy's good...but not that good. He's not fast enough to get away from our front 7.
