ITS TIME TO GET POSITIVE

It is not hard for me to be optimistic about the VOLS. Watching the team on the VOL walk, then turning around and going to the other end to meet the band. Watching all the fans from 6yrs to 80 decked out in BIG ORANGE. Then finishing off the final drink and food, closing up and heading in. The first glimpse of the field and hitting your seat. High fiving all the fans around you (you don't want to sit by me if you arent ready to stand and holler) then the band takig the field. Then the forming of the T. The team running in and the place going nuts. Of course the "pay these prices and please pay no more". I love'm and get excited about next weeks game on Sunday. It is hard for me to see how you can't get excited. I understand being disapointed but hell I know the players and staff are more than even we are.
But I know there are diff strokes for diff folks. I guess when it comes to my VOLS I am a glass is half full kinda guy.

90,000 real fans at Memphis game occuping seats. I estimate below 75,000 for Vandy if it's cold as expected. If next season continues the Fulmer slide, Beef by the end of the season you"ll be in big ole Neyland all by yourself!!

Its hard to get positive about UT football as long as Fulmer is still around. Just glad its basketball time in Tennessee. :lolabove:

Whatever...just stick with the diamond game.

Once again, who cares. Who wants to see a bunch of players no one wanted struggle through a losing season. New coach or not, that team still stinks.

Nobody stinks as worse as our pathetic football team. :bad:

If we didn't have the football team then your precious little baseball team would be kaput! Where do you think the money came from for Delmonico?

There will be more than 75 easily. You need to quit taking drungs and give them to the patients who need them.

If everyone else did quit going then I would be the only one because I will NEVER give up on my VOLS!

I would expect a slightly smaller crowd for a Memphis or Vandy game. If GA or FLA were coming in it would be full no matter what UT's record was.

U know most well coached teams find their problems and fix them, this coaching staff doensnt think their is any problems, just bad luck and bad timing.

Most good coaches don't air their team problems in public either. Its better to keep optimistic. Fulmer knows there are problems. He's not stupid. He has won close to 80% of his games and not too many coaches EVER can make that claim. Coach Fulmer elevated this team from being ranked in the top 10 every once in a while or so to being in the top 10 almost every year (6 times) and winning a national championship. He knows what it took to elevate this program to a national championship level and I have faith he'll do it again.

The problems you talk about fixing don't get fixed in one week. If there are issues amongst the team that don't get aired publicly, they won't be fixed until the offseason. And if you don't think it can happen, see how the Philadelphia Eagles are handling team issues.

Play with the hand your dealt. 5 losses to 5 ranked teams which the Vols were either ahead, tied or within 6 points in the 4th quarter of each one. The Vols also have a win over the #4 ranked team in the country. You people act like this is the worst Vols team ever. You are wrong. They will be back to winning 10+ ballgames next season.

No this season hasn't been pretty, but I'm still pulling for the Vols to win the rest of their games. I don't ever give up. I guess its something that I picked up watching the Vols when Johnny Majors coached.... no matter the circumstances, you never give up playing. If a bowl game is all that's left to play for, then I say play the best you can to achieve that goal.

This is not the the first nor will it be the last disappointing season in UT football. If you think the close games this season were hard to watch. Right after the 1985 season where the Vols finished ranked #4 after beating Miami 35-7.... the Vols were preseason ranked #10. Some preseason publications picked Tennessee to win the national championship. The Vols even rose to #8 in the polls before losing to unranked Miss State 23-27. Then getting crushed by Auburn 34-8. Further embarrasment for losing to unranked Army 21-25. Then Alabama comes into Neyland Stadium and wins 56-28. And then another loss to an unranked team, losing to Georgia Tech 13-14. Now that was a hard season to swallow. But players and fans did not give up and the Vols ended up beating Minnesota in the Liberty Bowl. The Vols finished 1987 with a 10-2-1 record.

The Vols were preseason ranked #17 in 1988. The Vols lost the first 6 games of the season. Scores included 17-28, 26-31, 9-34, 6-38, 24-52, 20-28. The 24-52 loss was to unranked Washington State. The Vols finished the 1989 season with a share of the SEC Championship and an 11-1 record.

Never give up! Go Vols!!

Well for one i cant ever remember a season when our baseball team underachieved. It seems like every year or two they always surprise everyone and make it to a super regional and at least every five or so years a World Series. Delmonico has turned UT into a national contender now. Fulmer is taking us to the ??/$ bowl this year if they are lucky enough to beat Vandy and Kentucky. From Rose Bowl to %$#@ Bowl= UNDERACHIEVING 2 MILLION DOLLAR CLAPPER
