It's Vols @ OSU

No it will be Vols vs Penn State if Oregon beats Penn State. Penn state will fall behind Ohio state if they lose. If Georgia loses then we probably host Georgia. We shall see soon!
I want TN to stay away from Georgia as much as posssible. TN can’t seem to get over that hurdle.

but if everyone moves up, that includes the teams not playing

I think the quote was not penalizing conference runners up (meaning moving them out of the playoffs)

Of course the rankings and seedings will change, about which there has been entirely too much confusion this year.
We can't jump OSU because neither played but Georgia can drop moving everyone up in the same order.

Again, no. He answered a question about teams outside the bracket that are not playing, like ole miss. His answer was that they can't move in bc theyre not playing.

Context is important because I wasted time and posts because of what others said he said - then I listened to the question and answer.

There will be movement between winners and losers above us - that movement will reflect the games - close games = limited movement but some. Lopsided games - movement will be more drastic.

Again no, he basically said teams not playing wont change order but teams playing can move up or down. We cannot jump OSU but we both can move up if Georgia drops 2 spots when they lose.

They will stay away from SEC v SEC or Big10 v Big10....especially rematches

This makes no sense about no data point.

We lost at Georgia. If they beat Texas, it would make that loss "better"...
He’s basically trying to cut off all the speculation, complaining, or lobbying from teams right outside the teams that have made it in. Only thing I can see changing the teams in vs out is if Clemson wins the Championship. That would move SMU down, Clemson gets locked/and bye, and Bama would be out.

Now the order of the top/in teams can change depending on the championship games, but they shouldn’t knock anyone out, except Bama because you can’t get around it. Unless SMU losing to Clemson would outright kick SMU out, thus keeping Bama in.

Bottom line is I still take it as “We don’t want to hear from Miami, and Ole Miss, we ain’t answering the phone, leave us alone”.

Since the head of the CFP committee said there would be no change in standings where teams are already done , going forward it will be UT at OSU in the first round.
Quess so, I’ve never heard nothing but the truth on here!

I’ve heard other people make this claim, but I’ve yet to see a quote.
I watched it. Rece Davis pressed him and he said the non playing teams won’t move any more. So if Clemson beats SMU, South Carolina gets no credit for beating Clemson at Clemson? they still should consider SOS even at this late date.

Wait a minute!!

My daughter has a lead role in the nutcracker (she’s the bunny that kills the rat king)

She’s also a big Tennessee fan.

The buckeyes are a nut.

Is this a sign that Tennessee is going to crack the nuts aka beat the buckeyes???

Yeah 10 of 12 teams are decided. 11 is either Bama or Clemson. 12 is either Arizona State or Iowa State.
11 will be Bama (if SMU beats Clemson) or SMU (if they lose to Clemson).

If Clemson wins they are either #12 or, if UNLV also beats Boise, then the Rebels are #12 and Clemson gets the fourth bye.

The only caveat is if Clemson wins and they become #11 with SMU going to #12 simply due to head-to-head.

Still a lot that could happen.
