J.P. Prince Transferring to Tennessee?

I could have lived the rest of my life without knowing that he was related to Tayshaun. I don't know if I can bear to see anyone related to him don the Orange and White.

Haha... Hey, if this guy wants to come to Knoxville, I don't have a problem with it. He's a player that can help out immediately.

*Correction

He's a player that can help out immediately after he is eligible because of his transfer of schools.

Prince is hoping to hear from Tennessee within the week. He wants to make his decision soon.

That's bad matchup for LSU, playing against a running team, on the road, at the end of a two game west coast swing. Play the game in Baton Rouge and it looks very different.

Sounds good for us this year

Got that right. Hopefully everything works out. We'll be hearing the decision pretty soon.

Yeah, his versatility would leave Bruce with a lot of options. CBP would find a way to get him on the court as much as possible.

Would he sit out this year or next? Imagine a roster like that. Ramar, Howell, Lofton, Tabb, Jujuan, Tatum, JP, Passley, Childress, Crews, Chism, Williams.

Prince would be a nice land(especially with the recent departure of Marques Johnson).
No, he wouldn't. There's a very simple reason he couldn't get off the bench at Arizona: He can't play. Arizona wouldn't have Shakur logging the kind of minutes he is if Prince was anything other than practice fodder. An absolute waste of a scholarship.

Prince has supposedly been battling an illness all season.

So... hatvol, would you rather have Jordan Howell on the court instead of Prince?

The illness he's been battling is the fact that Lute Olson gets sick everytime he realizes he recruited him. I'd rather have Howell. He's already eating a scholarship, I don't want to waste another.

Do you think Bruce would take him then? And if Bruce takes him, would you question it, especially with the players that have interest in us for the 08 class?

UT won't be able to use the scholarship that was previously occupied by Marques Johnson to get a better talent than Prince. It's too late in the recruiting process. So... Pearl can go to the JUCO ranks and try and find someone, or give the scholly to J.P. Prince. I'd say he's going to end up a Vol if everything goes through with the transfer.

I would hope the whole Marques Johnson fiasco would have soured him on positionless players who don't have a specialty skill. I won't just question it if he takes him, I'll say the same thing I did about recruiting Johnson as a point, he's wrong.

There are roughly 200 JUCO players available who would use JP Prince as a pinata.

What talent? The ability to overdribble on offense and be used as turnstile on defense? I didn't realize those were traits we were looking for in a player.

We'll just have to see if we land him. This may be all for naught. Maybe he just needs a different atmosphere. Lute Olson took him and now Bruce may. They must have seen/see something in him.

I think Lute was A) razor thin in the backcourt and B) looking to get into Memphis in an attempt to mine talent out of last year's group.

Well, UT is recruiting slow, overweight players that have less than 4 years of basketball experience... so I'd say this would be an improvement.

The last time I checked, Prince isn't 6'10". You can't teach size.
