During a bowl games this past week (don't remember which of the 50) one of the teams playing apparently took I think a wide receiver and turned him into a QB.

With Jalen's height and speed, has there ever been any talk of CBJ and staff exploring the possibility? I mean, it's not as if VN and the coaching staff are even close to being in agreement on a lock on the QB position for next Fall, so why couldn't Hurd be considered?

I'm not sure where I read it but Hurd said in a interview that he will not be a QB, that he has the worst arm ever. Just never develop a throwing motion.

That only works against UT!

yeah let's put one of the best RB's this cycle at QB and turn all those WR into blockers

I'm not sure where people pull this stuff from but I'm guessing it's a dark place

Logan Thomas at VT is a converted TE I believe. He can't hit the broad side of a barn. They talk about how he has the size and arm to play in the NFL. Problem is, he over throws his receivers about 70% of the time. No thank you.

NO, Jalen plans on running the ball.

OK - fair response. I have not hurd that or read that about hurd.

And just curious, does anyone in VN have any substantive proof that Hurd could not be a QB w/the right coaching?? And not just your personal gut feelings, but proof?

Dont know about proof but history says Tennessee wont put a player that has never played qb at qb....atleast not a starter.

After having shoulder surgery twice....he does not have the ability to throw very well...He has said so himself several times....

Don't you think that with that kind of size and athleticism a high school coach somewhere along the line would've put him at QB if it was plausible?

I do not have proof, i do know that he played running back in highschool. A ton of our skill players were multiple year starting qb's at the highschool level and arent ever going to get a sniff at qb in college. Do you have any proof that he can throw the ball over 20 yards?

I am not sure that he has played QB in HS, and if he did, he must have not been very good or he would have stayed at that position. We, will be fine @QB this year so i see no way he will be at that position.

Man I think Hurd should play running back. Something tell's me he belongs there. I'm not sure what it is but I've just got this gut feeling he is going to be really good at it. That and the fact that he is one of the most highly rated RB's in the country.
Who cares if he is tall and the AVERAGE running back is short.
I hope he is better than AVERAGE.

Nick Marshall, cornerback to quarterback. Went to the national championship. Could happen, don't know how well Hurd throws though
