Jalen Hurd reminds me of

If that's that case, he is the fastest human being on earth at that size....noone in the NFL combine ran that fast at that size. Bigger and faster than CP, wow! Gotta love hand timed 40's at summer camp, lol.

All kidding aside, he looks plenty fast. Just needs some bend, thats all...

Vernon Davis, Matt Jones, Calvin Johnson just off the top of my head did.

I think that he reminds me more of Jonathan Jones than anyone else. I know he is taller and leaner at this point. But he bursts through the hole in 4th gear and then the race is on.

He will be a defensive end or tight end when its all said and done IMO. No way you can run that upright in the SEC and survive unless you have 4.3 speed like DMac did.

He doesnt run upright. Thats been the biggest thing that has impressed these so called experts. With his size he still runs low and will run your a$$ over. He will not be a D or a TE. He is a RB all day and will be a beast at doing it.

I seriously doubt Nick Sabin was recruiting him as a DE or TE..lol. Power TB with the ability to take it to the house is what he is!! Go Vols!

I don't know where the DE thing came from, but the Bama offer was as an athlete to play either DB or Wr/TE. Hurd himself was quoted saying such in an interview with 247 last year, and was one of the big reasons for the falling out between Hurd and Bama in October last season

............the 2 frosh. at Bama and UGA. The question I have is this. Does a back like him fit into the new offense we will run?
He is better than them. Hurd is more like McFadden or Adrian Peterson.

He definitely has the potential to be better than both of them. But give Gurley and Yeldon credit they are both very good RB's and are both in offenses that help showcase and complement their styles and ability.

Jalen Hurd reminds me of a dirty old bum. I'm about to sock him, because he's a dirty old bum, but when I get close to him a realize there is something a little different about this guy.

I'll keep this real simple...he will be a TB at UT.

Nobody said Walter Payton... in before the next MUT Legend's name is posted about a high school senior / rising frosh.

Glad to have him, but would rather him show up with a chip on his shoulder than the sense that's he's already a legendary HOF running back.

It's not like we haven't had talented backs on the Hill. We've just fell below UT's par in the Dooley era.

Hope Hurd becomes a MUT legend in the years ahead, though... so, don't take the post the wrong way. :hi:

Don't worry, I don't think he's drinking his own kool aid just yet. The main thing will be that we keep him focused on school and practice, and not messing around in the media where people like James Franklin and Urban can influence his commitment. I'm sure CBJ will be at a LOT of Beech games this year to keep him on the straight and narrow.
