CLARKSVILLE, TENN. — A 19-year-old Clarksville man was shot early Sunday morning and Clarksville Police continue the investigation.

At 2:45 a.m., Clarksville Police responded to an aggravated assault in the 3000 block of Lavender Circle.

A woman reported she heard several shots from Lavender Circle and Jenny Lane near a large party, according to a CPD report.

Clarksville Police also received a report that someone had been shot at the location of the party.

The victim, Jalen Reeves-Maybin, said he was standing in the street near Lavender Circle when someone started shooting and he felt a sharp pain in his arm. He and his friends got in the car and left the scene.

He sustained a gunshot wound to his arm and was taken to Gateway Hospital for medical treatment.

The shooting is still under investigation by the Clarksville Police Department.

Hope he's not seriously injured.

Pay attention kids - nothing good ever happens after 12.

Hopefully it was a clean wound with no nerve, bone or ligament damage.

Either way count your blessings your still alive JRM!

God and Tennessee have higher plans for you!

Yeah, it's hard to believe that this was just a random shooting. IMO, which I hope is completely wrong, there is more than likely a reason for this shooting (obviously not a justified one), of which you listed one possibility above. The other that comes to mind is gang-related (not necessarly Jalen but whoever he was with), but this is PURELY speculation, and I really hope it's not the case. It's just hard to believe he was just sitting around singing kum ba ya and someone started firing.

or there could have been a fight and he was standing nearby with his friends. Half of these young people on the streets dont know what their doing with a gun. seems like there was an assault and he was just standing nearby.

What was he doing out at 2.45, I know he is young and all that but this day and time you are asking for something bad to happen at that time of morning.

Right, so that's another of the possibilities that could have been. Still doesn't speak well of him for being around people that like to fight if indeed that is the case. I don't know Jalen, and hopefully he is a great kid and I am completely wrong. And I am glad he's alive!
