Jalen Reeves-Maybin shot Sunday in Clarksville

Saw JRM on campus and there seemed to be nothing wrong at all, didn't even notice a bandage (I wasn't looking for anything, as this was before the reports). He was all smiles and joking with a friend, appeared to be perfectly fine. From my encounters with JRM, he is a stand-up guy with an infectious personality, so this leads me to believe he was not involved at all, just some very bad luck.

All reports indicate he was an innocent bystander and not part of the underlying problem/fight. I hope they catch the Vandy fan that did it.

Glad to hear that. There's no evidence whatsoever that he did anything wrong at all. By all accounts he's a great kid. Recently happened to bump into one of his former high school teachers at Meharry medical center in Nashville. She gushed over him, talked about what a high character guy he is, showed me pictures of him and her on her phone. He just needs to reconsider and be careful where he chooses to be at 3 am on a Saturday night IMO.

While it looks like JRM was an innocent bystander, the house he was hanging at is a known drug house full of thugs. A house that nothing good happens at.

I just hope he wasn't out trying score some grass or coke.

Why presume he was? When I was in college, I had a part time job at a big time newspaper. I was what they called an inserter.

Starting at around 9PM until 2AM-3AM, I stood all night at a conveyor belt. We pulled inserted advertisements into the last sections of newspapers. Then went to another belt to remove stacks of plastic strapped newspapers and load onto carts that rolled to a chute and dumped the papers outside the building for vans and trucks to deliver to carriers all over town. It was a common sight to see college kids, assorted others, even homeless people trudging away after work at 2am-3am. Sometimes walking all the way to campus as some of us had no car and the buses weren't running, and no one could afford a taxi.

Sporadically, we heard angry shouts, running foot steps, gunshots and saw people being chased. We just stayed together and walked fast, ran a bit, walked fast when too tired to run more until we got back to campus. It had nothing to do with weed. The most dangerous thing was realizing that we were breathing ink in that environment. Found out in winter when blowing our noses and seeing the black colored mucus. Most of us decided money wasn't worth killing our lungs for. That too had nothing to do with weed but it was 2-3 in the morning.

I know he was just shot in the arm, but are the jokes really necessary?

I agree. I know we read this message board for fun, but a young man was shot and a half a step from death. Lets all be thankful JRM is still alive and try to end this stupidity. God bless.

Shot through the arm and who's to blame he gives love a bad name.:wavey:

This ain't a post for the neg-a-vols
Don't give a **** 'bout the gator trolls
I ain't gonna be just a face in the crowd
You're gonna hear my voice
When I shout it out loud

It's JRM's life
It's now or never
He gonna be a VFL forever
Just let him live while he's (and I am glad he is ok &) alive

He wasn't at the house. He was across the street from it.

I'm not saying he was involved with what was going on at that house but we was in the vicinity of the house. Maybe not in the front yard but closer than I'd wanna be at 2:30 in the morning.

Maybe you should contact Nightcrawler and ask him to teach Jalen to teleport. That way he won't ever be close a potential danger. He could even avoid so as not to be in the vicinity of some road rage nut shooting at other drivers for fun or something. Here's the contact, I think:
