James Franklin has ZERO respect for the Power T

Personally I love that Franklin is the coach at Vandy. This has become a rivalry again! After many many MANY years of wearing that black and gold a$$ out behind the wood shed and not even giving a crap about Candy Vandy, these games will actually mean something again!

Enjoy it for the next year or two. The further away we move from the Dooley era, the more things will return to normal.

This is no big deal to me. I take it as a sign of respect. And, as with Dooley's infamous locker room comment, I assume that it was not meant for external consumption.

We are how they measure themselves when it comes to athletics. We are everything they aspire to be and they hate us because they can't be us. We are the State of Tennessee and they just live in it. I don't blame Franklin for trying to fire-up his program any way he can.

It is a sign of distress; just like when people turned their US Flag upside down when the Community Organizer in Chief got elected.

I understand your point but I would describe the introductory clause of your third sentence as a manifestation of NATURAL LAW, established by almighty God. Every now and then, there will be a violation of natural law, the earth will wobble on its axis, Halley's Comet will transit the solar system or some other celestial transgression. But, if you look in the supplements and/or amendments to the original 10 Commandments, you will find, in fine print, the following message:

"TENNESSEE SHALT ANNUALLY BEAT VANDERBILT LIKE AN UNHOLY DRUM!! I have sent George Cafego among my Big Orange children to remind them of the seriousness of this commandment. If the tribe of Volunteers fails to do as I have commanded, they shalt be banished periodically to the college football wilderness and be subjected to the most humiliating of all punishments: They shalt be branded as losers to the heathen black and gold nation. Now, go forth and lay waste to the infidels!"

Instate school I dont see a problem with him not liking us. Hell I hope he hates us. Lets show him on the field who the top dog in the state of Tennessee is.

Franklin had no venom against us until the "We always beat the **** outta Vandy" quote.

That is very true! I get that most Vol fans are going to hate Franklin regardless of what he does. If winning at A program that never wins and taking them to back to back bowl games doesn't get any respect I don't know what will!

I agree with this. Then getting curb stomped the next year.
UT owes vandy the beating of a lifetime. I remember a game I went to years ago, I believe Shuler was the QB and DiNardo's last game, we beat them like 45 to 0. Need to double that and send JF packing.

Actually, 45-0 was the final score of the 1991 game. We beat them 62-14 in 1993 and 65-0 in DiNardo's last game (1994). DiNardo's reign, for all of his bluster, was a lot of fun for Tennesse fans. He lost the four games he coached against us by the combined score of 201-39. See Tennessee vs Vanderbilt 1869-2011,

I like it ... There's a reason they hate us so much, you know?

btw, They've been losing for 50 years and a couple of decent years aren't going to change that.

Because they beat the hell out of us, have taken recruits that normally would have gone to UT by default, and finished 9-4 and in the AP Top 25 last season?

Vandy is a legitimate threat to UT right now, both on and off the field. Beating them this year is no guarantee. In fact, it's probably a coin flip.

That said, I do think CBJ is already locking down the state in his first full recruiting cycle. But Vandy is THE must-win game of the year. UT's ascension can't fully begin until Vandy is snuffed out.

If I could shake your hand I would! You sound like the most honest and intelligent poster i've seen on here! May the best team win come November!

Again? In the words of Inigo Montoya, "you keep using that word. I do not think it means, what you think it means."

No, he didn’t. In ’91, Vandy beat Ole Miss (30-27), Kentucky (17-7), and a 9-3 GEORGIA team (27-25). In ’92, Vandy beat Kentucky (20-7) and a 9-3 Ole Miss team 31-9. Kentucky was the only ’93 SEC victory (12-7), but, in 1994, DiNardo beat Georgia again (43-30) and Kentucky again (24-6). By Vanderbilt standards over the last 60+ years, DiNardo’s overall records were not bad: 5-6, 4-7, 4-7 and 5-6. See Vanderbilt Historical Scores.
