James Green

I'm not even sure either of them is 6'5. Pretty sure Green is 6'4 and Jones 6'4 as well (but I think he may be closer to 6'3 - maybe the other way around though - since they like to exaggerate and all).

I thought it was reported that James Green had hit a growth spurt and is now around the 6'4" range? Not sure how reliable that report was though.

Not only a whole new receiving corps but a whole new offense. :)

QB 6-6 Bray
FB 6-2 Fugate
TE 6-6 Jones
WR 6-6 Milton
WR 6-4 Green
WR 6-2 Ambles
WR 6-2 Cobbs
WR 6-2 Meline

No shorties. If all those wide receivers stick with Tennessee... I would think they are done with the position. I just hope Delvin Jones stays around to play tight end.

now we just need the OL

Definitely. Cullen and James need to get on board. Fulton seems to be the best OL committed thus far. I will be happy if we can add three more linemen to the class. Six total. I think we all would be. Definitely the weak spot.

I'm not for sure this is a done deal. Hubbs said last night that he don't think Green will be here in January...

We'll be fine on the OL. We have some guys in the wings who just haven't made it public yet.. Gotta save some of that excitement for closer to signing day.. Wouldn't make any sense to make the whole recruiting class public before the season even gets to the halfway point.. Have to leave some room for the recruiting surprises..

I do like hearing we got a new commit after a loss but I question how long everyone stays committed if we don't get some o-line soon. I think Bray is a lock because his only competition is Stephen's. But wide receivers... we have a lot of them and if we don't get some protection for Bray than I could see a couple backing off their commitment. Bray needs time to get them the ball and with his frame, he is liable to be injured. I think LV is right about James being a silent or at least a heavy lean. So at least we have that announcement waiting to go down.

Do you not think other recruits are told who is a "silent commit" by the coaches? Coaches let the top targets know what all is going on with the players they will be surrounded with. That's why you'll see a recruit slip up from time to time in these articles.. But some coaches will not let certain recruits know what all is going on in the recruiting process. Whether they're just recruiting over them or simply don't care whether they waver or not..

LV, why wouldn't Green be here in January? especially with a whole extra year to get everything in order. He is def signing with us again and not another team??? sorry kinda behind on green's info

I really dont think recruits look at the recruit list on paper and play all the games of their careers in their head and decide where to go based on that. Just because there isnt any 5* lock OLmen in this class doesnt mean there wont be any next year. or the year after that. or the year after that. Look what the coaches are doing with two walkons and a freshman.

I don't really know a whole lot about Green's situation. Hubbs never gave a reason as to why he might not be here...

We're taking Meline as a DB, not a WR.

Cobbs is more like 6'0-6'1 and Bray is closer to 6'7.

I watched the call-in show he does with Will Overstreet Sunday morning and somebody called about James Green. Hubbs said he didn't think this staff would be all that interested in going back after him, could be this staff likes the guys we have coming in better.

Has there been anything new on him? Last I saw Buck Fitzgerald said he was playing at a prep school in New Hampshire (I think? Somewhere up north at least) and that he'd be here as an EE.

It seems like more info would be out there than that about him

Someone actually called in and asked Kiffin this week if Green would a part of this upcoming class and Kiffin said UT is still recruiting him. He said that's all he could say on the matter...
