Jamie Newberg thinks we lead for Luc and Green (merged)

I just dont see the Copeland scenario. People are acting like he is a 2-star or something. He is very talented and I dont think he decides to sign somewhere else.

I don't think the coaches would lie to cobbs just to get him to commit.

I'm sure they've made it clear to him that he will play his best position whether it be WR or S. He will have a much easier time getting early PT at safety than he will at WR too. I'm sure he would be fine playing for Monte and rocking heads with Janzen...

Like I said before, we aren't recruiting strictly to positions. We are recruiting athletes. Orgeron talked about this concept in Meat Market as he was trying to rebuild Ole Miss. He believed the best way to rebuild the program was to just recruit athletes and let them fall where they fall. The ones with good hands will play offense; the rest will go to defense (paraphrase)...

According to Cobbs the only thing that was made clear is that he will be playing receiver.

Eric Ainge, Peyton Manning, Brent Scheiffer, one of those Clausens, Brandon Stewart...just a few QB that have won games as freshmen at UT, If you include other schools the list gets really long. Not saying Bray will be great or even start, but we REALLY should expect a high level of production from this football team at all positions all of the time...isnt that why Fulmer got fired? expectations?

Well said.

Really???? Climb out from under your rock......

THAT IS WHAT COACHES DO!!!!! All of them!

You've been hurt before, haven't you?

Let's talk about it. We're all friends here. Tell me about the coach who hurt you. Communicating and getting this behind you is the only way you're ever going to be able to move toward your quest for a fulfilling relationship. Not all coaches are evil, PG.

Yay!

Finally people are starting to see the truth of what I posted and was scorned for a long time ago.

I would guess at least:
Ralph Williams (grades)
Broussard (grades)
Copeland (depth after he sees who we take)
Pair (depth after he is the 6th best OL in the class)
and maybe Delvin Jones who just wants to go to Miami after all.

You're brilliant. There. Take the guys with known grade issues and not highly ranked by the recruiting analysts, then post they won't be here on NSD. That's pure genius. Appreciate the constant reminder of the obvious and taking credit for posting it.

The only thing is Scout has Cobbs like the #2 overall WR, usually guys rated that high will tend to be good at what they do.

awww...somebody had to sit on the bench while all the other kids got to play. and he was just as good as they were...just ask momma

No...If you must know the truth....I played in every college golf tournament except 1 my 4 yrs of college....never sat on the bench! OVC championship ring also! I played with Phil Mickelson, Chris Dimarco, David Toms, and Per-Ulrik Johanson.......(RYDER CUP MEMBERS)!

The point was...coaches will tell a kid what he wants to hear to get him to their school.

If you don't believe that...you are an idiot!

Jaytrain.....I like you...but that goes for you also!

Haha that made me look back at some old classes and see who all panned out.

Jason Allen was an ATH/RB
Chris Hannon QB
Justin Harrell OL

Chris Lofton WR lol

Inky WR

But just the number of people we signed that were future stars that were busts is unreal, especially at DT. Just amazing all the people I can remember getting excited about through the process and they just vanished into nothing.

Right but being the best at that position and moving kinda refutes what the other guy posted.

Right, I understand the point you were getting at. I wasn't trying to prove you wrong or anything... just saying that's probably the most common position change and easiest transition for the players.
