Japan? Total Catastrophe. Obama? He went golfing

I completely understand this point. I was referring mainly to the comparisons between our current and former Presidents. I just find it pointless. If you think Obama is handling this wrongly, fine. I just see both cases as a hater's gonna hate no matter what concept. It's all good. I just find it an exercise in futility. Personally, I find all politicians as self-serving egomanics interested only in themselves. So they ALL SUCK!!!!!

At the risk of hijacking someone else's intent I think at least some of this, (majority even?) is people pointing out the inconsistency in how the two Presidents were presented by the media moreso than an actual direct comparison.

You say "haters gonna hate" and yeah, it's sometimes just that simple. What I think at least some of these people are pointing out is how different it is when similar actions bring about different reactions. Another poster mentioned that perception can often equal reality. I doubt any of us would argue that isn't often the case. So, what about when the media goes out of the way to point out certain things critically about one person and not another? Some would argue this is precisely the sort of thing that can steer perception and that's not a good thing to be mucking around with when we're talking about our leaders.

People's views are wildy diverse in this area. I just wanted to point out I think that the "pissing contest" as a matter of directly comparing one person to another might be oversimplifying some people's views.

Bush's alleged slow response to a disaster on U.S. soil is simply not analogous to Obama playing golf the day after having committed the typical resources to a crisis on the other side of the globe. I realize that the Obama-haters would like to draw some comparison, but it it so utterly different at so many levels, you just look really petty for continuing to try to make something of it.

Go back to complaining he's a spend thrift. You got traction on that. But this? No.

Point taken. I guess I am just so tired of the petty bickering while the status quo continues. That's the brilliant design of the system. Partisainship divide and conquer. It's old. Our govt needs an enema in the worst way.

I'm thrilled he not only got his golf game in but he managed to do the AA brackets also. What a full day he's had.
