Jaylen McCollough arrested

For the record, I'm not saying he's not at fault or that he's not going to get suspended.

I'm just saying I don't entirely blame the guy for punching a drunk who wandered into his apartment unannounced and then called him a dick for getting mad about it. If a drunk guy walked into my home right now, I'd fight first and ask questions later. That shouldn't put me at risk for a felony IMO, but we'll see how this one unfolds.

I want to wait until the actual facts come out. Not just the word of someone who so drunk he went to the wrong building. If Jaylen did this as described, cool kick him off the team, but if this kid is lying because he started **** and wanted a payout from a player who probably has an NIL deal or from the AD, then Eff that kid.
If he’s looking for a player with a nice NIL he picked the wrong one.

Nerdy is more of a my generation descriptive word I guess.
I think there’s a completely different side to this story after seeing this Zion guy. Not justifying anything, don’t know anything. But if I had to guess, this story has quite a bit more to it.

Accidentally walking into the wrong house is a bit different than an apartment that’s unlocked in the fort. Regardless if a guy is apologizing and quickly leaving it’s probably in your best interest not to try and fight him for everyone’s sake.

Not saying he picked Jaylen. I'm saying he could have been the aggressor, got his teeth knocked in, and when he realized who did it saw there could be a payday to hush it up, but that's a conspiractoral side I'm not willing to countenance right now.

considering this is considered out of character for Jaylen, there's probably more to it and people on here are quick to call the man guilty without an iota of proof that it happened the way as described in the warrant.

He allegedly apologized and quickly left. We don't know what actually happened yet.

Well he did a poor job at communicating that. Regardless McCollough’s hand was bloodied and bandaged which was in the report.

Mr. McCollough walked back to the scene with his right hand in bandages and blood showing through the bandage," the warrant states.
Yeah, I read the arrest report. It doesn't look good, but we need to keep in mind it isn't the full picture. Jaylen didn't offer any explanation or answer any questions.

Let Deniko play.
He's earned it.

And McCullough is a practice warrior anyway.

Need to see a safety that actually impacts the game!!

Dude couldn’t remember where the party was so you really think he remembers the whole altercation?

You’re blinding making statements with a one sided story. How do you know he followed him?

Because he was found unconscious outside of the apartment?

I don't think so. I've seen a few bar fights and it's assault unless someone has gone ham on somebody or taken a tire tool to them.

Busted noses and missing teeth are a dime a dozen on any given Sat night. Felonies aren't.

Felony comes into play with broken bones according to the T.C.A. so knocking teeth out is likely included under that. If the teeth popped the jaw may be fractured.

But people are “over charged” and charged incorrectly every day. Former DAs will openly admit incorrect charges being useful in getting a plea. I do know I wish we had more to go on. He coulda beat the dude half to death for all I know, or he coulda been the bigger stronger guy and knocked dude flat out and was given a charge unlikely to stick. We just don’t know yet
Agreed. But if you've ever been around this kinda thing, the felony aspect of this is troubling.

Sure, people get overcharged all the time but just search Knox Cty for felony aggravated assault. They don't just charge every drunken student altercation as a felony.

I'm not even saying Jaylan didn't behave like you or I would..... go get the man who is drunk and annoying and whip some ass, but there's limits to an ass whooping. Beyond those limits, there's a felony.

He was found? The girlfriend was in the apartment with Jaylen.
We actually don't know that. We know that she helped Zion get up after he was unconscious but we don't know where she was when the alleged assault took place as its not mentioned in the warrant and neither the officers nor her gave a statement about it.
