Jaylen McCollough arrested

Huh.... Who knew?

Apparently common sense is a miracle, these days.....

But then, I imagine it IS for some folks
So "common sense" involves making unfounded assumptions about events that you did not witness or have direct knowledge about? I don't think so.

Here's some "common sense" though... You are a "brave guy"... behind a pseudonym and key board. Where you seem to be lacking in both common sense and courage is recognizing that you don't know all circumstances of all incidents and have not applied a way of reacting to such an incident that eliminates risks in every situation for you and those around you. As someone mentioned before, your "flight" answer for dealing with an intruder might some day encourage a meth addict to kill you or someone you love in order to finance their next high.

But... you'll just be you and insist that you are morally superior to those who are NOT pre-judging what happened.

Happy birthday Jaylen,
Apparent facts.
1. It was afternoon, not middle of the night!
2. Same building complex, drunk was not at wrong apartment complex but did enter wrong apartment.
3. Punch apparently happened AFTER drunk left apartment, not while inside.
4. Blood on stairwell, drunk had messed up mouth, blood on stairwell.
5. Jaylen had bandage on hand with blood on it.
6. Jaylen made no comment.
7. Unknown if GF or anyone else made a statement.

I think anything else is just speculation or wishful thinking
If allegations are true, it will probably be pleaded down and expect Jaylen to remain on team and maybe miss a game (if pleaded down). If charges dropped, then no missed games. No action by Heupel until court actions resolved.

I agree with your sentiment; however, the sad thing is we now have a distraction going into Alabama week. This puts CJH in an unenviable position. Regardless of the facts, coach must decide what is in the best interest of this football team moving forward. Unless this comes to a quick disposition, the fallout from this could dominate this week for everyone involved with the program. Is it easier to sit a guy that may not deserve that level of punishment for the better of the team? That is above my pay grade.

The drunken idiot needs to be prosecuted (trespass, public intoxication, etc.) to the fullest extent of the law due to the negative repercussions of his actions.
If this were reversed and Jaylan' had been drunk, walked in the wrong apt, then gotten punched...... y'all would all be calling for the head of the guy throwing punches at drunk Jaylan.

The orange and white glasses are thick here.

This. Just looked at front page of ESPN and boom, there it is in the top headlines of the day, "Vols McCullough facing felony assault charges". Dang. And am confident this will be on the ESPN ticker this evening as one of the 4-5 LEAD STORIES. No idea if this young man is innocent or guilty, but man oh man oh man oh man, I just hate it when our boys give ESPN this kind of fodder. They eat it up and can't wait to show their true feelings towards the Vol faithful. Feel bad for Coach Heupel, his staff and the players as they have enough on their minds with BALA-AMA coming in this weekend.

This is the last time I'm going to respond to you since you don't seem to be capable of having a civil conversation and have now actively wished harm on me.....

I'll not be adding you to the ignore list though.... You're not worth that much effort

Y'all have a nice rest of your day, now

Those are allegations and evidence. Not necessarily facts yet.

So it’s the bottom of the little side that only like 5% of people that go to espn look at? Lol ok.

Arrested for aggravated assault. The last time we will see him this year.
A drunk guy came to his Girlfriends apartment, and knocked on the door the guy said he apologized but McCollough didn’t care followed him to the stairs then hit him.. I don’t believe that is 100% true, if that’s the case McCollough’s in some trouble

Any idea what happened to the Georgia player that got a DUI a couple weeks ago ?

3 tackles and a TFL Saturday and honestly a DUI id say is worse for those precious “optics” just put a good product on the field and no one will care at the end of the day as long as it doesn’t hit a social Justice button.

There is no football coach-player privilege like the attorney-client privilege. I doubt CJH will have the opportunity to talk with his player about the facts of the incident until it is resolved. If he does, the conversation would not be privileged or protected from discovery by the State. Coach would be subject to a subpoena about the talk and the player's 5th amendment right to remain silent could be waived.
That's the problem with lawyers. So using common sense would tell me is that McCollough would share this with the Coach if he was innocent or at least state that it did not happen as the victim has described it. Did McCollough hit him evidently he did. Why? this may be a grey area or it may not. All you want is the truth to come out not saying a word at first was ok. No need to say it to the Police Officers because those words could have gotten twisted. There are two sides to this story and one side has not been told the other is in the Police Report. If the truth levels the playing field then it best if it comes out as soon as possible. Were you were speaking of him incriminating himself with CJH? The truth will come out regardless.

No sir. That is incorrect. There is no excuse for that behavior, no matter who it is.

That is factually the truth. You can laugh but it doesn’t change the fact that there’s no conviction so the alleged victim is just that until he’s not.

Btw still waiting on those citations from a couple pages back.
Ok would it surprise you to know that McCullough’s side piece who corroborated the victims statement also knew the victim and he had been in her apartment before? Jealously is an ugly animal and just because the guy was drunk and high off weed doesn’t mean McCullough can chase him out of an apartment that wasn’t his and blindside him down some stairs causing massive injuries. McCullough may have broken his hand he hit the guy’s skull so hard

Hard to disagree with any of that either. I’m not sure what level you’ve played or coached to, I certainly never played D1 football myself. BUT….I personally never gave a second thought on the field about my teammates personal problems. Sure we discussed it before and after but never came up once during a game. If CJH refuses to answer any questions and tells his staff/team to do the same I just can’t see the players giving even half a sh!t about it on the field. Just my 2 cents….

I coach baseball now, and we have kids with problems. I’m not sure their teammates have ever seen their performance drop.
That’s good to hear.
