Jaylen McCollough arrested

One more point..

So we are to believe this drunk
1) leaves the party,
2) was then able to find his car in the dark to get "something" from it,
3) but then cannot find the BUILDING he just left?

BS
According to the report it was 3ish in the afternoon.

I guess the question is does he play on Saturday?
Why wouldn't we play him.
Again we have been through this before but now if the charges are dropped it is going to look bad.
If we do play him then it will look bad.
I think CJH and McCollough and have a one on one.
If CJH says he plays then he plays and we can wait this out the local DA decides what they are going to do.
Two sides to every story theirs and his and the truth probably lies in the middle.

Seriously who gets drunk at 328pm. Oh wait been there before, but not where I would have talked back to a McCollough.
The only chance he has to play against Bama is if the charge is dropped this week. He isn’t going to be allowed to play or even practice with a felony charge outstanding

Gotcha. I saw 3 and misread it as "am".

Was this guy arrested for being drunk in public? Or maybe criminal tresspass if the apartment room number doesn't match with the one he supposedly was trying to find?

I think he should play….this move to ruin a career or season because he said/she said is stupid.

If he’s later convicted(he won’t be) it will be something totally forgotten at that point….and if someone(media I’m sure) wants to stir up drama at that point it’s very easy to say “we didn’t have near enough information to make a decision at that point”
I agree with your sentiment; however, the sad thing is we now have a distraction going into Alabama week. This puts CJH in an unenviable position. Regardless of the facts, coach must decide what is in the best interest of this football team moving forward. Unless this comes to a quick disposition, the fallout from this could dominate this week for everyone involved with the program. Is it easier to sit a guy that may not deserve that level of punishment for the better of the team? That is above my pay grade.

The drunken idiot needs to be prosecuted (trespass, public intoxication, etc.) to the fullest extent of the law due to the negative repercussions of his actions.

I think Heupel can’t worry about appearances. You just do what’s right. If the kid did something wrong he cannot play and I wouldn’t want him to. If he wasn’t in the wrong it’s unfair to sit him for the biggest game of the year. Of all the dumbass luck for this to happen during Bamaweek.

I mean if say Will Anderson did this, you think Saban wouldn't play him? Please he'd still play, and Saban would say he'll handle it internally.

I'll be stunned if the system suddenly moves that fast. Even assuming the charge is ultimately dismissed, the process will take weeks to resolve in the absence of something extraordinary.

Doesn’t mention it. I’ll try to post the report.

You know they are not going to be dropped. A person that gets a DUI is still allowed to drive and is not restricted. I think this is an usual situation of which their could have been he said vs he said. I have faith that CJH will make a decision after talking to MCCollough. Hopefully he did not call the police like some of our previous coaches did in the past.

Hard to disagree with any of that either. I’m not sure what level you’ve played or coached to, I certainly never played D1 football myself. BUT….I personally never gave a second thought on the field about my teammates personal problems. Sure we discussed it before and after but never came up once during a game. If CJH refuses to answer any questions and tells his staff/team to do the same I just can’t see the players giving even half a sh!t about it on the field. Just my 2 cents….

I coach baseball now, and we have kids with problems. I’m not sure their teammates have ever seen their performance drop.

Cool.... I'll get 'im likkered up on the sacramental wine and get the truth out of 'im.....

Then chuck him down a short flight myself for being so stupid as to wander into the wrong apt. while hammered and put this fanbase through something like this....
Well, you've taken care of the miracle part... you claim clairvoyance to know things about what happened without having any means to do so.

In talking to multiple people I’m not ruling him out Saturday. I think there is more to this story. The incident report was pretty incomplete and just had the one side. Always two sides. I’m not gonna say he is totally out this week. Another note is the incident didn’t happen on campus and didn’t involve another UT student. Possibly taking student conduct out of the equation. More details will come out imo and more dots will be connected.

This thread is Comedy Gold, Jerry.

Not so much for the parties actually involved in the incident, though. Hopefully they get it sorted out and justice prevails, whatever that may be.

Cant fix stupid, why cant kids just behave. Oh well next man up. He mad a lot of mistakes anyway and I hope a younger dude steps up.

Exactly. According to report I read, the guy McCollough went after simply walked into the wrong apartment and was leaving when J-boy decided to punch him down a flight of stairs.
How stupid can you be ? Did he not understand that his team has the biggest game of the season coming up Saturday ?

I looked up the victim on FB and if I got the right kid there is no way MCCollough would lay a hand on this child without a reason. McCollough could have blown on him and he would have fell down.

A Florida Gator Fan as well.

The report you read is the narrative of a drunk 20 something year old. Not the absolute truth.

Huh.... Who knew?

Apparently common sense is a miracle, these days.....

But then, I imagine it IS for some folks

Agree, I think it’s better than 50/50 that he doesn’t play another down of football this year

Sounds like Self Defense......... a drunk person entering your house late at night deserves to be punched in the face!

There is no football coach-player privilege like the attorney-client privilege. I doubt CJH will have the opportunity to talk with his player about the facts of the incident until it is resolved. If he does, the conversation would not be privileged or protected from discovery by the State. Coach would be subject to a subpoena about the talk and the player's 5th amendment right to remain silent could be waived.
