I’d be calling him a complete dumbass and lucky not to have been shot if he was drunk and did that and wondering why he didn’t get arrested for public intoxication and illegal entry.

Because KPD has been ordered not to arrest for minor crimes. Especially minorities and victims of other crimes

Let me know when you turn hit 20 so I can give you some advice about the real world. Why did you call her a Side Piece what was that referenced to more hearsay or fact. You are a drama queen and crap stirrer and you know nothing. You don't have to educate me on the real world I have been in a lot longer than you have. Again, I asked you a simple question what do you do that entitles you to receive all this information? Where do you fit in the chain of need to know the information regarding this Case? And if you are Privileged to receive it would not it be prudent and wise not to disclose it on a msg board?

Interesting, was that the thought when French, Willis and Salter invaded a room in Stokley?

Salter and Willis weren't dismissed, nor charged, though all admitted to being along with the guys that got dismissed.

As I recall the mood here was, "Dumbasses. Make them run until they puke. Besides, they robbed a weed dealer...... probably scum anyway."

JM couldn't win when he made the choice to punch this guy. It's a lose-lose for him unless the guy clearly was attacking him. It seems there's going to be "he said, he said" if JM claims that and no other witnesses, but only one guy who went down the stairs and hung around for the cops to get there.

It just doesn't look good from the info we have. JM should've let the guy walk off and we'd be talking about beating Bama without the distraction.

Alleged Victim is exactly what he is. For all we know, he was the aggressor and JM defended himself. We also don't know that the altercation happened outside. Dude was drinking. He could have drunkenly fallen down the stairs after being the aggressor in the apt.

no. That's not how this works. They can think he did all day long but its their burden to PROVE he did. JM is innocent until proven guilty. The state, if they choose to forward this case, has to put Jaylen in the stairwell as the aggressor.

EDIT: Its almost Wednesday and they haven't kicked him yet. One would think if they were going to sit him for Bama they would have already announced it.

I doubt that you are older than me but I really don’t care either way. You seem naive on how things work, but I’ll chalk it up to message board discussions. I have been to over 300 UT games and attended my first one in 1980. I’m entitled because I spent over 30 years of my adult life in various important careers in Knoxville and around that allow me to know such things and know many people. This isn’t a flex but I laugh when people post things they read from the News Sentinel or wbir on Facebook and assume they know the actual story. You are lied to all the time by the media which gets paid to kill certain stories. As for “prudent” why do I care? I’m just stating what happened on the topic of this thread

And circumstantial evidence often convicts people.

We have a guy with missing teeth who says he was punched and left down the stairs unconscious. He was obviously missing teeth so that circumstantial.

We have JM with his knuckles wrapped in gauze and the guy says he hit him. That's circumstantial.

This ain't a murder, luckily, and all that needs to be proven is that a preponderance of the evidence points one way or the other because it's going to be JM having to overcome his knuckles and the other guys injuries in a "two conflicting witnesses" situation.

Can it be reduced? Let's hope so. Can it be ignored by Coach Heupel? I don't think so.

I have no idea what situation you’re talking about so I can’t comment specifically on it, so I’ll just say I raised my kids under a “do the crime, serve the time” philosophy which is the same one I was raised on and still believe in.

Had one in their 20’s get into a legitimate wrong place, wrong time, wrong people to be around situation at the beginning of a 3 day weekend and she didn’t even try to call me because she knew Mom would let her sit there for being a dumbass. She sat in county for several days and now makes much better life decisions.

Which is all your opinion and hearsay. I attended my first game in 1963 and connected to UTK as well.

Even if I knew or was told the details of this story I would not tell it on a public site, especially when you are hearing it 2nd and 3rd hand and you have have no clue as to the other half of the story.

Your words were not mature enough to call a woman a Side Piece. It is cheap, callous, immature and chauvinistic. It speaks to your creditability and maturity.

Furthermore, you have an answer to every counter that is given. Instead of stating I don't know or I am not sure which again calls your creditability into question.

Only one that was there and witnessed it could provide the answers you have stated. So again, your creditability comes to the forefront.

You have holes and hearsay in your statements and an answer for everything.
No buying it and that is how the real world works son.

If JM were the one with missing teeth, you'd be insisting he's the victim, not alleged, but clearly the victim because he's missing teeth, etc.

It's the squirming to find any possible way this guy could be lying and JM can be made out to be completely innocent....... when if JM had been down those stairs bleeding you'd want the puncher's head on a platter.

No I wouldn't. I would be calling him the alleged victim just the same. You don't know me. You don't know where my political convictions are, but they aren't with the state and they aren't with the presumption of guilt I'll tell you that.

EDIT: There's no squirming about the dude could be lying. He absolutely could be lying. He could have tried to steal something of Jaylen's in the apt and got aggressive for all we know. He had been drinking and was drunk enough to go to the wrong building in broad daylight. The teeth could be knocked in from him hitting the stairs falling down while being drunk and just have taken a punch. We don't know the facts. There's enough there for me to not convict.

There's no presumption of guilt.

I described it clearly. Circumstantial evidence convicts people in the absence of complete and absolute proof. That's just how it works in many cases. The jury decides who they believe when witnesses having conflicting testimony.

This isn't political. This is how courts work. Juries need to either mistrial or render a verdict and it's not always "cut and dried" absolute proof but people clearly telling two widely differing stories of the same event.

It comes down to evidence. Current known evidence in this situation seems to show a guy missing teeth, bloody stairs, and another guy with his knuckles wrapped in gauze.

Sure, there's more evidence but based on what we've got....... it's not pretty for JM.

and current known evidence doesn't prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Jaylen is guilty of AGGRAVATED assault. I would not guilty until the cows come home.

My speculation is this will not get to court for a while and the season will be over by the time it gets there. The Charges will be dropped or lesson to a misdemeanor and we will have wasted some brain power and board space. The kid that was drunk and entered the wrong apartment will move because of harassment or all parties concerned will hold hands and sing Kumbaya. Happy Ending for all. "Days of our Volunteer Lives" a new soap opera written and directed by Rick will hit the airways soon.

I don’t live on this message board. Life got busy so these days I basically just pop in and out during the actual season and I don’t do tv or cable, I stream the games. I used to be in the PF a bit but it’s been about a year or more out of there since I have a low tolerance for stupidity and wasn’t willing to risk getting booted from the site. So no, your mentioning it is the first I’ve heard of it.
